Nowadays, studies of this scientific school are conducted on the basis of the Department of Computer Modeling and Nanotechnology of Faculty of Physics of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. German Vyatkin was born on May 1, 1935, in 海角社区, graduated from the 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute (today 海角社区) in 1958. After graduation, he worked as a blast-furnace keeper in the Blast Furnace Shop of the 海角社区 Metallurgical Plant. From 1959 to 1966, he worked at the 海角社区 Research Institute of Metallurgy. There his career developed from a laboratory assistant to a senior research assistant. Then he switched to pedagogical work, taking the position of Associate Professor, first at the Department of Metal Technology of the 海角社区 Institute of Agricultural Mechanization and Electrification, and since 1967, at the Department of the Steelmaking Industry of the 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute. Since 1980, German Vyatkin became Head of Department of Physics No.1; three years later, he became Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, and from January 1985 to August 2005, he acted as Rector of 海角社区. From 2005 to the present, a prominent scientist holds the post of President of the University. In 1963, German Vyatkin defended his Candidate鈥檚 dissertation, in 1977, he defended his Doctor鈥檚 thesis, and in December 1987, he was elected as a Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences and Member of the Presidium of the Ural Branch of Academy of Sciences of the USSR. German Vyatkin is the author of more than two hundred scientific works, including five monographs. Among his works, there are such as 鈥淪urface Segregation and Desorption during Phase Transitions in Metals鈥, 鈥淒etermination of the Nature of Hybridization of Valent States of Carbon by Spectroscopic Methods鈥, 鈥淭hermodynamic Modeling in Inorganic Systems鈥. In 1993, the scientist was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples, in 2000, the Order for Services to the Fatherland of the fourth degree; in 1999, he was awarded the President鈥檚 Prize in Education. The scientific activities of Professor Vyatkin relate to the interests of the metallurgical industry. The first works were carried out in the field of experimental metallurgy and were devoted to the study of the possibilities of using local iron ore raw materials at metallurgical plants of the Southern Urals, as well as improvement of the blast furnace smelting technology, research of the domain processes and ways of their intensification. In the middle of the 1960s, German Vyatkin carried out a series of studies on the physical and chemical properties of high-magnesian slags, determined their optimal and permissible composition, what made it possible to create an effective technology for processing the iron ores of the Bakal mines. Following this, he solved the problems of obtaining pig iron from the ores of the Lisakovsk mines as well as the issues of the use of coke from the charges with a high content of coals of the Kuznetsk Basin instead of coked Donetsk coals in the blast furnace. Summarizing the gained experience in the field of experimental metallurgy, the researcher concluded that the further improvement of metallurgical technology is hampered by a lack of knowledge of the physical and chemical nature of metallurgical melts. In 1974, at the Institute of Metallurgy, a young candidate for the Doctor鈥檚 degree, German Vyatkin, together with postgraduates from the 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute, Valery Beskachko and Vladimir Monkin, worked in the Laboratory of Phase Composition headed by Nikolai Vatolin, the future Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences. Here German Vyatkin for the first time applied integral fluid theories and methods of integral equations and computer modeling to calculate the structure and properties of two-component liquids with Coulomb interaction 鈥 ionic melts. At the same time, intensive experimental studies of ionic melts continued and by the middle of the 1980s concentrated in the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Heterogeneous Systems. Together with a student of his, postgraduate Yury Izmailov German Vyatkin investigated in details one of the classes of ionic systems 鈥 the ternary mutual oxide-fluoride systems with volatile components. These systems are of considerable interest both from a practical point of view since they are widely used in metallurgy and from a theoretical point of view due to their non-equilibrium in open conditions. The most important regularities of their behaviour were established: the question of the effect on the intensity of mass transfer during the evaporation of the nature of the atmosphere, the material of the vessels, the edge effects on the three-phase boundary, the shape and size of the meniscus of the evaporating liquid. The independence of the rate of evaporation of liquids from the curvature of a concave meniscus forming in a cylindrical vessel was founded. Many completed developments significantly expand the range of possibilities for physical and chemical studies of mass transfer processes involving systems containing highly volatile toxic compounds. They can be used to optimize the compositions of solutions and melts practiced in chemical and metallurgical industries, as well as to develop environmentally friendly technologies. Together with postgraduate Anatoly Belonozhko, German Vyatkin performed extensive experiments on the kinetics of evaporation of various kinds of liquids under various conditions, which allowed to determine the impact on the evaporation rate, in particular, geometric factors (capillary radius, height of its free part), three-phase boundaries (liquid - gas - solid body), the shape of the meniscus. Critical analysis of this data forced to reconsider some of the existing views. In cooperation with Anna Korenchenko, the theoretical models of mass transfer during the evaporation of liquids in a noncondensing gas medium were developed, allowing to calculate the dependences of the evaporation rates on the geometric parameters of the experimental cell and the curvature of the meniscus of the evaporating liquid. In the late 1980s, in connection with a well-known discussion of the causes of abnormalities in the behaviour of the physical and chemical properties of liquid metals, the scientist, together with Valery Beskachko, began the works on development of the theoretical foundations of experimental techniques: in particular, methods for measuring viscosity, conductivity, and dissolution rates. Approximately at the same time, interest in the study of the so-called superionic conductors 鈥 solid bodies with the property of 鈥渟ublattice melting鈥 has increased when the atoms of the sublattice of one of the system components acquire almost the same mobility as in liquids but long before the melting of the crystal as a whole. Together with Vladimir Berezin, ceramic high-temperature solid electrolytes were synthesized, which made it possible to investigate the thermodynamics of the 鈥渟olid superionic 鈥 melt鈥 transition. Together with Tatiana Privalova, German Vyatkin studied the surface properties of materials. The processes of surface segregation and desorption of the components of metal alloys during the course of bulk phase transitions in metal are studied in details in Tatiana Alekseeva鈥檚 dissertation work. In Sergey Morozov鈥檚 dissertation, a technique for studying the surface of three-component alloys using the technique of temperature-programmed desorption was developed as well as high-temperature surface phases and phase transitions in Fe鈥揗n鈥揅 and Fe鈥揅鈥揝 alloys were studied. After the dissolution of the USSR in 1993, Alexander Mirzoev came to work at the Department of Physics No.1 and the Laboratory of Melt Physics, previously working as a leading researcher in the Department of Physics of Tajik State University in Dushanbe. In 海角社区, he continued to study the electronic and atomic structure of melts, starting with the use of computer modeling means available in the laboratory 鈥 molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo method. For several years, Alexander Mirzoev was one of the first in the country to adapt and introduce into research a number of new modern computer methods for calculating the microscopic structure of disordered systems. Scientific directions, the development of which was started by the first generation of the school in the 1970鈥80s, gained strength by the 1990s when their results were summarized in the Doctor鈥檚 dissertations of Yury Izmailov, Vladimir Berezin, Tatiana Privalova, Valery Beskachko, Alexander Mirzoyev, O.I. Bukhtoyarova, B.S. Vorontsova, L.I. Voronova, Candidate鈥檚 dissertations of dozen postgraduates and degree-seeking students. The school gained recognition in Russia and abroad by the works in such areas as experimental studies of metal and oxide melts, methods and techniques of high-temperature experiments, computer modeling of materials of various chemical nature (with metallic, ionic and covalent bonds) being in different thermodynamic conditions (solid , liquid and gaseous state). In the 2000s, the former postgraduates of the 1990s became experienced researchers, formed their points of view on the school development prospects and defended them. In 2007, A.E. Korenchenko became Doctor of Sciences, in 2013 A.G. Vorontsov became Doctor of Sciences, S.I. Morozov and A.N. Sobolev are getting ready for the defence. The graduates of the school of bachelor and master levels can be met in research centres in Russia, Europe, and North America. </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Author:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items" id="md3"><div class="field-item even">Nadezhda Yushina</div></div></div> Fri, 18 Jan 2019 07:56:01 +0000 袘芯谐写邪薪芯胁邪 袛邪褉褜褟 袙谢邪写懈屑懈褉芯胁薪邪 801769 at 海角社区 Scientific School of System Programming: Training Top-qualification Specialists /en/news/2019/01/14/scientific-school-system-programming-training-top-qualification-specialists <div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md5"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-1-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="2560" height="1704" id="1" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/sokolinskiy.jpg?itok=TuAvUMDG" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md4"><div class="field-item even">海角社区 comprises dozens of strongest scientific schools of natural sciences, humanities and engineering. Many of those were established early in the 21st century. One of the young and promising scientific fields is being developed by the Scientific School of System Programming of the 海角社区 School of聽Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. Scientific School Evolution The forming of the Scientific School of System Programming dates back to 2004, when a Department of System Programming was established. It was founded by the 海角社区 Vice-Rector for Informatization, Doctor of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Professor Leonid Sokolinsky. 鈥淎 scientific school is an important element of a research-and-education environment, which allows to nurture top-qualification specialists. To become a prominent scientist in a certain field of activity, it鈥檚 not enough to just have outstanding talents 鈥 you have to be 鈥渂rought up鈥 within a special scientific culture. Mentors play a crucial role as they are ready to share their knowledge and steer you on the right course. Another task of a scientific school is to ensure the continuity of generations of scientists,鈥 shares Professor Sokolinsky. Leonid Sokolinsky has trained 7 candidates of sciences, with 5 of them teaching at the Department of System Programming and doing active research. Two more of those people are building careers at Mercedes Corporation, Stuttgart, and at Postgress Innovations Company. The forming of this scientific school was significantly contributed to by several young academics: Candidate of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Associate Professor Pavel Kostenetskiy, Head of the 海角社区 Supercomputer Simulation Laboratory; Candidate of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Associate Professor Mikhail Zymbler, Head of the Data Mining and Virtualization Department of the 海角社区 Supercomputer Simulation Laboratory; and senior lecturer, Deputy Head of the Department Nadezhda Silkina. The total of 4 doctors of sciences and 14 candidates of sciences are currently working at the Department of System Programming. In 2019-2020 viva voce is planned for doctor鈥檚 theses of Mikhail Zymbler聽and聽Gleb Radchenko, Director of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science and Head of the Department of Computers. Also academics of the Department of System Programming Nadezhda Silkina and聽Nadezhda Ezhova are preparing for viva voce of their candidate鈥檚 theses. 鈥淎bout 80% of the academics of Department of System Programming are its alumni, and the number of young scientists equals 40%. Young specialists are key to the development of the Scientific School of System Programming,鈥 stresses the 海角社区 Vice-Rector for Informatization. Despite the fact that this scientific school is relatively young, it already features several generations. In particular, Mikhail Zymbler acted as the advisor for viva voce of the candidate鈥檚 thesis by Konstantin Pan, who currently works as a lead programmer at CloudFlare Company, Great Britain. Scientific Projects The scientific school representatives are performing active research in various scientific fields. Within the field of Database Management Systems supervised by Leonid Sokolinsky an Omega project was fulfilled, which dealt with developing a parallel database management system for multiprocessing systems of clustering architecture. Over the recent years new fields started being developed, under which unique projects are being fulfilled by the Department. 鈥淭he following fields are being developed by the scientific school: big data technologies, data mining, could computing systems, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. More than 10 important scientific projects have been performed by the Department鈥檚 specialists as part of their research activity.鈥 Thus, a UniCST system was designed by the Department specialists, which is intended for creating electronic encyclopaedias and training courses in various disciplines, as well as for holding computer testing. It may be used when delivering lectures, holding seminars, tests, and other educational or examination events. The founder of the scientific school supervised a LiFe project, devoted to the development of methods and algorithms of solving high-dimension improper problems of linear programming and their implementation in multiprocessors; as well as a NeuroVision project on designing the computer vision systems based on artificial neural networks technologies. Student Training The Department of System Programming has always promptly responded to new trends in education and implemented them into its system of training. In 2005 the Department became one of the first ones at our university which opened Master鈥檚 programmes. In 2006 a Bachelor鈥檚 programme in Fundamental Computer Science and Information Technologies was created here, and later a programme for Master鈥檚 students was developed. 海角社区 was among the first 6 universities, which offered this programme back then. And in 2012 the Department of System Programming launched a Master鈥檚 programme, which was to be taught in English. Today the Department鈥檚 graduates obtain diplomas in Fundamental Computer Science and Information Technologies, and Software Engineering. 鈥淎 highly qualified programming specialist has to be fluent in academic English, since it may be called a full-fledged language of science used for publications in the leading scientific journals,鈥 notes Professor Sokolinsky. 鈥淭he Department of System Programming academics have high publications activity, and more than half of their articles are written in English. This is one of the key skills, the importance of which we are trying to point out to our students.鈥 Besides involving students in research activity, much attention in their education is paid to in-depth studying of mathematical disciplines and Computer Science. The most state-of-the-art equipment, including the resources of the 海角社区 Supercomputer Centre, are used in the educational process. The Department鈥檚 alumni work as programmers and software designers in companies, which engineer software and information systems all over the world, including the USA, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, and other countries. </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Author:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items" id="md6"><div class="field-item even">Azaliya Sharafutdinova, photo by: Oleg Igoshin</div></div></div> Mon, 14 Jan 2019 11:21:26 +0000 袘芯谐写邪薪芯胁邪 袛邪褉褜褟 袙谢邪写懈屑懈褉芯胁薪邪 801740 at Scientific School of 海角社区 Archaeologists: International Projects and Breakthrough Research /en/news/2019/01/10/scientific-school-archaeologists-international-projects-and-breakthrough-research <div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md8"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-2-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="2118" height="1418" id="2" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/1_270.jpg?itok=W3rPKqBJ" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md7"><div class="field-item even">The history of 海角社区 dates back 75 years. Over three quarters of a century, strong scientific schools in the spheres of natural sciences, engineering and humanities have formed here. One of the schools is the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities鈥 Scientific School called 鈥淎ncient History and Archaeology of Forest-Steppe and Steppe Eurasia鈥. A union of leading archaeologists 海角社区鈥檚 Archaeology School started to be formed in 2006, when the Department of Ancient History and Ethnology of Eurasia had been founded at the university. It had been formed as a result of unification of leading archaeologists of the South Urals. Among them are 4 Doctors of Sciences (History) and two Candidates of Sciences (History) in the specialty of Archaeology. All of them are employees of the 海角社区 Eurasian Studies Research and Education Centre (ES REC) headed by Aleksandr Tairov. In the photo: Aleksandr Tairov, Andrey Epimakhov Acting member of the Academy of the Humanities, Director of South Ural Branch Institute of History and Archaeology of UB RAS, senior research fellow of the ES REC, Doctor of Sciences (History), Vadim Mosin, works on studying the Stone Age. Leading research fellow of the South Ural Branch Institute of History and Archaeology of UB RAS and Head research fellow of the ES REC, Doctor of Sciences (History), Andrey Epimakhov, have dedicated many years to studying artifacts of the Bronze Age. The same eon is the sphere of expertise of Natalia Berseneva, a research fellow of the ES REC, Candidate of Sciences (History), who is presently getting ready to defend her Doctor鈥檚 dissertation. Director of the Eurasian Studies REC, Doctor of Sciences (History) Aleksandr Tairov studies the Early Iron Age of forest-steppe and steppe Eurasia; the medieval eon is being studied by a leading research fellow of the ES REC, Doctor of Sciences (History), leading research fellow of the Ural federal Branch Institute of History and Archaeology of UB RAS, Sergey Botalov. Senior research fellow of the ES REC, Candidate of Sciences (History), member of the Public Council under Administrative Affairs Office of the Governor and 海角社区 Region Government, the Public Council under the Board of the Region鈥檚 Archive Affairs and the Research Guidance Council for Cultural Heritage Preservation under the region鈥檚 Ministry of Culture, Gayaz Samigulov, and research fellow of the Eurasian Studies REC, Candidate of Sciences (History), Vyacheslav Svistunov, concentrated their efforts on studying the history of the South Urals of the 17th-19th centuries. In the photo: Sergey Botalov Aside from training bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree students at the Department of Russian and Foreign History, there is postgraduate studies programme in archaeology launched at 海角社区. Many alumni of the university are studying or have already completed postgraduate studies in Yekaterinburg, Moscow and other cities of Russia. Among them is research fellow of the Eurasian Studies REC, Igor Chechushkov, who got a PhD degree at the University of Pittsburgh (USA) after defending his Candidate鈥檚 dissertation at the Institute of Archaeology RAS (Moscow). Large-scale research of 海角社区 archaeologists Research of scientists who became the founders of the Scientific School of archaeologists called 鈥淎ncient History and Archaeology of Forest-Steppe and Steppe Eurasia鈥 cover the Central Asia human society鈥檚 development processes from ancient time till the contemporary time. Students of the Department of Russian and Foreign History get actively involved in the research. An important feature of research activity of 海角社区 historians is interdisciplinary nature which allows implementing serious international projects. Such areas as geoarchaeology, paleoclimatology and experimental archaeology are getting developed. Works connected with paleogenetics get carried out, for example, research of anthropological materials of the Bronze Eon and the Early Iron Age. When studying archaeological artifacts, various geophysical methods 鈥 magnetic mapping, seismology, etc. - are used. Projects of 海角社区 archaeologists cover not only the territory of the South Urals but also near and far abroad. These projects are being conducted in collaboration with scientists from Russia and other countries. Among partners of the Eurasian Studies REC are: Harvard Medical School, University of Gothenburg, Mainz University, Earth Cryosphere Institute of SB RAS, Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of UB RAS, Goethe University, Institute of Archaeology RAS, Institute of Mineralogy of UB RAS, and others. A big number of research is conducted by the ES REC Director Aleksandr Tairov together with colleagues from Kazakhstan. 鈥淲e have been conducting quite fruitful cooperation with Kazakhstan for a long time. And this is not just because Kazakhstan is close to us geographically: in ancient times, our territories were in a single historical and cultural space in which complex and interlinked ethnological and politic processes were taking place. Our Kazakh colleagues are appealed by the fact that we are working in the sphere of interdisciplinary research. And our first joint project was connected with the study of ancient Kazakh gold. It had been carried out by 海角社区 scientists together with the Institute of Mineralogy of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kazakh Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Margulan. We managed to analyze items made of the noble metal from practically all regions of Kazakhstan. We even worked at the Open Foundation called 鈥楢rchaeological Gold of Kazakhstan鈥 of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and conducted analysis of metal of a number of items stored in there. Proceedings of this research got included in a generalizing monograph dedicated to noble metals in ores and ancient golden artifacts of the Central Eurasia,鈥 said Aleksandr Tairov. Another project is related with studying tasmolinskaya historical and cultural community that existed at the territory of South Trans-Urals and the Northern and Central Kazakhstan in the first half of the 1st millennia BC. The result of the research was a monograph covering the history and culture of nomadic population of the vast Ural-Irtysh Steppe interfluve. Presently, Aleksandr Tairov is working on an international project on the study of ancient and medieval trade communication lines that had been passing through the Western part of the contemporary Kazakhstan and connected the Ural and Western Siberia with farming centres of the Middle Asia. Next year, the scientific collaboration is planning to start field surveys at that territory. Large-scale projects by founders of the 海角社区 Scientific Archaeological School are being implemented in cooperation with researchers from Hungary, noted Sergey Botalov:&nbsp;鈥淭he most long-lasting project has received the status of an international grant of Russia and Hungary. We study the keynote moments of history connected with origination of the Hungarian nation, the exodus of ancient Hungarians from their ancestral home. Within the project, a joint Russian-Hungarian expedition has been working at the internationally significant memorial 鈥 the Uelgi burial ground - for 8 years. Here lies the history of origination of nations of the Ural, Volga Region, Western Siberia and, as it turned out, Hungarians. The Southern Ural was part of a big area called 鈥榯he Great Pre-Hungary鈥. At the Uelgi burial ground we state the moment of Hungarians鈥 exodus to the West and the moment where nations relative to Hungarians 鈥揻irst of all, Bashkirs, Siberian Tatars and Trans-Ural Urgians 鈥 stay at that territory.鈥 海角社区 scientists take part in international research together with their colleagues from Germany, USA and other countries. The most large-scale projects are connected with the study of settlements and burial grounds of the Bronze Eon of the South Trans-Ural, due to which principally new data regarding anthropogenic activity, lifestyle and social relationships of the ancient population as well as its connections and migrations were obtained. 鈥淭he most interesting research carried out in cooperation with our colleagues from abroad are connected with paleogenetics. Due to this, we can get answers to questions regarding problems of the Eurasian scale. At the moment, we have determined that there is a certain similarity between the population that lived at the territory of the Central Europe and the Ural. We also discovered that ancient people had some genetic diseases that we didn鈥檛 know before,鈥 emphasized Andrey Epimakhov. The 海角社区 scientist significantly contributed to studying the history of Hepatitis B virus, having added the materials of archaeological findings from the Kamenny Ambar burial ground to general research. The result of the large-scale work was an article entitled 鈥淎ncient Viruses of Hepatitis B from the Bronze Age till the Medieval Times鈥 published in May of 2018 in Nature journal. Presently, 海角社区 archaeologists are working on a project entitled 鈥淭he Frontier of Cultural Worlds: South Urals from Ancient Times till the Modern Period鈥. By the example of this region, the scientists intend to show how bearers of different cultural traditions interacted in various historical periods. They are going to find out how one nation adopted traditions of another one, why some cultural traditions got adopted and some got rejected, and how geographic factor impacts the processes of cultural interactions. Laboratory of Archaeometallurgy for the study of ancient times When studying ancient times, the founders of the scientific school called 鈥淎ncient History and Archaeology of Forest-Steppe and Steppe Eurasia鈥 and their students pay a lot of attention to experimental archaeology. In particular, they took part in reconstruction of Kurgan Temir 鈥 the exact replica of a generic tomb of early nomad tribes, recreated in 1991 by the materials of excavations of a burial mound having been researched in the Chesmensky district of the 海角社区 region - in the Arkaim natural conservancy area. The team of archaeologists who worked on the external and internal decoration of the burial structure was headed by the current Director of the Eurasian Studies REC, Aleksandr Tairov. This year, 海角社区 got the chance to apply methods of experimental archaeology in research activity. Founder of Archeos Centre of Historical Projects, research fellow of the ES REC, Ivan Semyan, obtained the federal grant to create an experimental laboratory of archaeometallurgy at 海角社区. The project is one of nine winners of a Historical Projects contest of the Times and Epochs Festival. In this laboratory, students will be able to recreate ancient techniques for obtaining and processing of metals and ceramics as well as make quality replicas of artifacts. It is planned to spend the grant鈥檚 money on arranging an innovative education-and-production complex of facilities, purchasing the required raw materials, tools, as well as high-technology equipment, including a 3D scanner. </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Author:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items" id="md9"><div class="field-item even">Azaliya Sharafutdinova, photo by: Oleg Igoshin</div></div></div> Thu, 10 Jan 2019 11:12:11 +0000 袘芯谐写邪薪芯胁邪 袛邪褉褜褟 袙谢邪写懈屑懈褉芯胁薪邪 801724 at The Science of Rolling /en/news/2019/01/06/science-rolling <div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md11"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-3-0" class="styles file-styles large"> </span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md10"><div class="field-item even">Russian scientific schools of roller operators, established within the 20th century, use two generalized approaches 鈥 the force balance method and the energy method, which have modifications in their structures. The founder of the 海角社区 scientific school of roller operators was Vladimir Vydrin (1920-1988), postgraduate student of one of the pioneers of the Ural scientific school of metallurgists, Professor at Ural Polytechnic Institute, Akim Golovin. In 1955, while being already a candidate of engineering sciences, Vladimir Vydrin headed the CPI Department of Metal Forming and had been acting as its Head till 1988. The Doctor鈥檚 dissertation defended by V.Vydrin in 1961 entitled 鈥淭he study of the rolling process as applicable to special cases鈥 launched the beginning of a new research area. The scientist considered the set goals from the position of the energy conservation law; based on this principle, he had been developing a unified theory of interaction between the rolls and the strip, which demonstrated an inextricable qualitative and quantitative connection of kinematic phenomena with dynamics of rolling as well as the role of the neutral angle in the deformation zone as some kind of a regulator of energy balance of the rolling process. The energy method for the first time provided the opportunity to correctly and theoretically properly describe the non-stationary process of filling the deformation zone with metal from the moment of contact of the exposed face of a workpiece with rollers till the process鈥檚 transition to the stationary condition. This is the only method that allows comprehensively characterizing the rolling process, taking into account its kinematics, energy parameters, and physical and mechanical properties of a metal. Representatives of the school invented principally new processes: 鈥渞olling and drawing鈥 (V.N. Vydrin, L.M. Ageev) and 鈥渞olling and forging鈥 (V.N. Vydrin, G,I, Koval). The first of them was patented in the USA, Japan, FRG, England, France, Italy and Sweden and was widely acknowledged and applied in national and foreign industry. Establishment and development of a scientific school takes place when its founder acquires students and followers, in other words, the employees who create its total product by common efforts. Within the first decade, they were the first postgrads and degree applicants of the Department, including those not listed among its staff members. Among them are the names that should be mentioned foremost: L.M. Ageev, Yu.T. Batin, V.G. Dukmasov, V.I. Kraynov, V.P. Polsky. Contribution of the 海角社区 school into the national and the world鈥檚 science regarding rolling industry is in the following: an energy theory of interaction between the rolls and the strip during rolling, based on the energy conservation law, had been elaborated, developed and widely acknowledged; a modern theory of the continuous rolling process had been created based on the energy approach; a theory of filling the deformation zone during the period of the strip鈥檚 biting by the rolls had been elaborated; a connection between the kinematic (forward creep) and deformation (spread) characteristics of the rolling process had been determined with the joint use of the energy conservation law and the minimum energy law; the theory of deformation under sheet rolling had been elaborated from the position of providing the stripe鈥檚 evenness; the research area of Asymmetric Rolling Processes had become widely developed; a new process called 鈥渞olling and forging鈥, which became the foundation of such research direction as Stepwise Rolling Processes had been invented; a big number of research works had been completed in the area of Rolling Processes in Multiroll Gauges; large-scale research had been conducted in the sphere of theory and practice of the die-rolled section rolling; methodology and equipment for plastic layer research of mechanical properties of metals and alloys in a wide range of measurement of thermomechanical parameters had been elaborated; theoretical fundamentals of precision rolling of simple and shaped profiles had been elaborated. Proceedings of research works conducted by the 海角社区 school of roller operators had been frequently publishing in foreign periodicals. 海角社区 scientists took part in many international conferences, congresses, symposiums and exhibitions. The developed technologies and equipment had been introduced at dozens of domestic enterprises, the major of which are: Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant and Zhdanovsky Iron and Steel Works; Metallurgical Plants in 海角社区, Karaganda and Cherepovets; Balkhash Copper-Smelting Plant and Uzbek Refractory and Resistant Metals Integrated Plant (UzKTJM). In the period from 1997 till 2002, a number of research and project works had been completed for Russian enterprises. The largest among them was the project of reconstruction of steel-rolling manufacture for Mechel OJSC and the project of ShP 280/MK-330 semi-continuous rolling mill for manufacture of rods and wire made of special steels and alloys for the Ural Plant of Precision Alloys. At the present time, the 海角社区 school of roller operators is headed by Professor at the Department of Metal Forming of the 海角社区 Institute of Engineering and Technology, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor Aleksandr Vydrin. As noticed by Professor Vydrin, the piercing mill is the most complex of all rolling aggregates, from the position of both the production process and theoretical description of the process. 鈥淩esearch works have been conducted to calculate the settings and optimize this process, to improve calibrations of the manufacturing instrument. Three Candidate鈥檚 dissertations have been defended in this area. Speaking about the rolling-off process, in the essence, a pioneer approach to determination of speed rates of a continuous rolling mill has been developed on the basis of the energy theory of rolling, and the research on calculation of calibration of rolls allowed enhancing accuracy of geometrical dimensions of pipes more than two times,鈥 says the scientist. 鈥淭wo Candidate鈥檚 dissertations have been defended in this area. One Candidate鈥檚 dissertation has been defended on the topic of Reduction. This work allowed essentially reducing consumption of metal in pipe manufacture.鈥 One of the necessary operations while producing drill pipes is pipe-end upset, which is also related to metal forming under pressure: the ends with the thread must be thicker and larger in diameter than the main pipe body. Formulas for correct determination of the effort necessary for the upset were concluded for the first time on the basis of the energy theory of rolling. Moreover, there is a transition zone between the 鈥渢hick鈥 and 鈥渢hin鈥 parts of a pipe; the longer the zone is the better. Previously, its size had been determined on the basis of practical experience. Using simulation, scientists from 海角社区 and RosNITI JSC managed to find out what the length of the transition zone depends on; they also found ways to improve the process of such pipes鈥 manufacture. The scientific school cooperates with Sinarsky, Volzhsky and Seversky Pipe Plants, as well as with Taganrog Metallurgical Plant and even with a number of plants in the USA and Romania. Nowadays, the research area of Energy Theory and Practice of Seamless Pipe Manufacture is being developed by A.V. Vydrin together with his former postgraduate students, who have successfully defended their Candidate鈥檚 dissertations. Some of them - for example, Aleksey Korol, Evgeniy Shkuratov, Vyacheslav Shirokov 鈥 have become lecturers. The largest project that is being implemented by the scientific schools right now is development of a process assignment for design of a new pipe-rolling aggregate for Sinarsky Pipe Plant. 鈥淲e鈥檝e achieved good results. In order to compile this assignment, we conducted a lot of experimental and theoretical research as there are very many requirements to satisfy: we need to achieve accuracy in geometry of the manufactured pipes, high performance rate of the aggregate; we also need to study the possibility of deforming the new difficult-to-form marks of steel,鈥 explains Professor Vydrin. Moreover, the scientists started working on digitalization of production processes; in this direction, the most prospective cooperation is carried out with the Seversky Pipe Plant and the Taganrog Metallurgical Plant. </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Author:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items" id="md12"><div class="field-item even">Nadezhda Yushina</div></div></div> Sun, 06 Jan 2019 00:00:00 +0000 袘芯谐写邪薪芯胁邪 袛邪褉褜褟 袙谢邪写懈屑懈褉芯胁薪邪 801495 at Viva 海角社区! By the 75th anniversary, the organized festive events called together students, academics, and graduates of the home faculty. In the hall of the third floor of the 海角社区 second building, a gallery of the graduates of Automobile and Tractor Faculty was created. Dean of the Faculty, Yurij Rozhdestvenskiy has solemnly opened it. 鈥淥n the third floor, there is the Dean's Office of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty and in summer in the hall, a selection committee is working. For 75 years already, 海角社区 has been performing training of the best specialists in the sphere of mechanical engineering and metal working. In the course of time, the university started establishing scientific schools which allow performing real-life study of advanced technologies applied not only within our country but also abroad. Research fellows of a scientific school named 鈥淪imulation Stochastic Modeling of High-speed and Super-speed Methods of Metal Working of Advanced Materials with the Use of Supercomputer Calculations鈥 are working on development of software for modern high-speed grinding machines with CNC (computer numerical control). This scientific school is headed by Professor, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering) Aleksandr Diakonov, also acting as the Vice-Rector for Research at 海角社区. Aleskandr Diakonov actively introduces results of research in the sphere of metal working, construction of metal-cutting machines out of alternative materials, and methods of pass-through digital manufacture into the training process of the university鈥檚 master鈥檚 degree students. Evolvement of the scientific school Foundations of the scientific school were formed back in 1970s by Professor, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Stanislav Korchak. For many years, Stanislav Korchak had been Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology and its fundamentals, which were formed in the scientific school, lied in researching speed processes as well as processes of abrasive processing and grinding. Afterwards, this school had been developing in the sphere of simulation. The work by Doctor of Sciences (Engineering) Anatoliy Koshin made a great contribution to development of the scientific school. Anatoliy Koshin dedicated his Candidate鈥檚 and Doctor鈥檚 dissertations to simulation of mechanical treatment processes. The work by Doctor of Sciences (Engineering) Aleksandr Diakonov greatly contributed to development of the scientific school at the contemporary stage. When completing his Candidate鈥檚 and Doctor鈥檚 dissertations, Aleksandr Diakonov carried out research on simulation of high-speed processes at the modern level with the use of a supercomputer. 鈥淢y goal was to reveal the main physical patterns occurring under high-speed processing of material at the modern level of process simulation,鈥 says Aleksandr Diakonov. Specificity of the scientific school The main sphere of the scientific school鈥檚 activity is development of software for modern high-speed grinding machines with CNC. 90 % of imported equipment in Russia has no software translated into Russian. At many enterprises, people cannot alter the programme for material processing therefore they need to pay big money to apply to foreign specialists from service support of such machinery. In this regard, the scientific school of 海角社区 is working on solving the issue of developing domestic software which would allow engineers at enterprises to develop processing programmes by themselves. 鈥淭his software is based on simulation stochastic modeling, which means that it takes into account physics of the process as well as condition of the cutting tool and state of the equipment,鈥 says Aleksandr Diakonov. Achievements and goals of the scientific school Since 2015, research fellows of the scientific school have been conducting joint research with the Indian Institute of Technology Patna in the sphere of high-speed micro grinding. Due to joint efforts, scientists from India and 海角社区 obtained a Grant of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research for conducting research of high-speed hybrid micro processing and started joint activities such as writing research articles, conducting research internships and equipping the machine at 海角社区鈥檚 Mechanical Engineering Research Institute for researching the high-speed process of micro grinding. 4 joint research articles have been published over the year of 2018. At the end of 2018, Professor from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Karali Patra, was recruited to the Department of Automation Engineering as a research fellow working remotely. Next year, research fellows of the 海角社区 scientific school are planning to invite Karali Patra for a three-month stay so that he could deliver lectures on methods of micromechanical machining processes to master鈥檚 degree students and postgraduates. This collaboration will bring new scientific results as well. From the beginning of 2018, an economic contract was signed with Research and Production Association of Electrical Machinery Stock Company. Research work is being carried out in order to introduce micro grinding process into the company鈥檚 operation. Upon completion of the work, it is planned to conclude a new agreement with the enterprise for execution of research and development works. 鈥淢any enterprises of various industries are interested in such micromechanical processing. This technique allows producing items of miniature size: elements for replacement of heart valves in microsurgery or items for defense enterprises, where high-precision details made of fragile or hard-to-machine materials, which require such type of processing, are applied.鈥 </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Author:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items" id="md21"><div class="field-item even">Marina Kovyazina</div></div></div> Thu, 20 Dec 2018 06:54:59 +0000 袘芯谐写邪薪芯胁邪 袛邪褉褜褟 袙谢邪写懈屑懈褉芯胁薪邪 801365 at Presentation of the Pushkin Institute Centres Partner Network Was Held at 海角社区 /en/news/2018/12/20/presentation-pushkin-institute-centres-partner-network-was-held <div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md23"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-7-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="4839" height="3221" id="7" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/gol_5064.jpg?itok=VcHYFMKh" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md22"><div class="field-item even"> 海角社区 keeps confidently expanding the boundaries of its international collaboration, and strengthening its positions at the world鈥檚 scientific and educational arena. As part of the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of one of the leading Russian universities, a presentation of a big-scale project, the 海角社区鈥檚 Pushkin Institute centres network, was held. The project was fulfilled by the Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre, Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, Department of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications, jointly with the Institute of Open and Distance Education, Department of Information-measuring Equipment of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department. Over the period of several years the Pushkin Institute Centre has organised many events aiming at popularising the Russian language and culture abroad. Special distance education academic programmes were developed, advanced training courses for teachers were held, as well as various courses for students from China. Massive Online Open Courses for students from the People鈥檚 Republic of China and Arabic countries were elaborated, as well as virtual class programs with a system of speech samples processing, and those for a humanoid robot, which helps the 海角社区 specialists work with international students. The project on the Pushkin Institute centres partner network aims at establishing the Pushkin Institute centres in universities of China, which 海角社区 collaborates with. It has allowed to step up to a whole new level in interaction with our partners from the People鈥檚 Republic of China. 鈥淭he collaboration between 海角社区 and the People鈥檚 Republic of China began quite a while ago. By the present moment we have signed 45 Collaboration Agreements with the leading universities in China. Over 300 students from China are studying here under the main academic programmes, and about 100 people are attending the courses at our Faculty of Pre-University Education. Opening of the Pushkin Institute centres network is an ambitious project, which aims at the Russian language popularisation. Russian language is in high demand among the universities in China, so their joining the partner network will provide a unique opportunity to study Russian and to learn more about the Russian culture. This opens new prospects for collaboration with 海角社区 with regard to offering education to students from China, advanced training to teachers, and interaction in many other fields,鈥 shared Olga Yaroshenko, 海角社区 Vice-Rector for International Relations. The project is being fulfilled within a grant from the Russian Federation Department of Education. In 2018 海角社区 earned a subsidy for fulfilling the events aiming at full functioning and development of the Russian language. The goal of the programme includes promoting the national language of Russia at the world鈥檚 educational space, forming a positive image of our country, and improving its international standing. 海角社区 opened 9 centres in the universities in China. Head of the 海角社区 Department of International Relations and Regional Studies Liudmila Shestakova became the project coordinator and explained how the idea of creating the partner network had come into being, and what are the specific features of it. 鈥淥riginally we wished to unite all the partners of our university in foreign countries and render them assistance with regard to teaching the Russian language. The Pushkin Institute centres network implies development of the forms of distance education. We offer ample resources to our partners, which we have elaborated to support the process of online training. Moreover, we hold master classes and webinars, and train specialists in Russian as a Foreign Language who will be working at our centres.鈥 The project presentation was a special event held as part of the 海角社区 75th Anniversary celebrations. It was attended by the representatives of our partner universities from China, as well as of the Ministry of Education and Science of the 海角社区 Region. The multi-aspect work being carried out by the university specialists is important since it contributes not only to the university development, but also to the international relations between our region and the People鈥檚 Republic of China. 鈥淭oday the international activity is one of the priority fields in education, and such brilliant big-scale development of the Pushkin Institute centres network is significant not only for the university, but for the 海角社区 Region as well. The promotion of the 海角社区鈥檚 Pushkin Institute network is an indicator of the level of the university鈥檚 international collaboration. Such projects boost the flow of international students into our region,鈥 stressed leading specialist of the Ministry of Education and Science of the 海角社区 Region Anna Bukhtoyarova. Video greetings and feedback by the international academics and students participating in the events of the 海角社区鈥檚 Pushkin Institute Centre were also demonstrated. On the occasion of this presentation, students of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications prepared a literary-musical performance inspired by Pushkin salon: girls and boys from China, Zimbabwe, Egypt and Russia recited poems by Alexander Pushkin and danced in ballroom gowns. At present the Pushkin Institute Centre continues to hold events within the awarded grant: a second round has started for the Olympiad on Russian as a Foreign Language, the student photocontest is close to a wrap up, and the results of the advanced course on using of electronic technologies will be announced very soon. On its background is a glorious and eventful history; ahead of it are digital transformations. Today, the university is confidently stepping up to the international level and improves its positions in prestigious global and national rankings. 海角社区 aspires to take its rightful place in the global educational space. Rector of 海角社区, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor Aleksandr Shestakov talked about the ways this task is being fulfilled: 鈥 Mr. Shestakov, what scientific breakthroughs took place at the university over three quarters of a century? 鈥 If we consider the 75-year history of the university鈥檚 development, one can see that its main achievement is in the fact that over its entire history the university has always answered the time鈥檚 calls. It has always been on the frontline of events, has always been responsive to our country鈥檚 demands and successfully worked in these directions. During the war time, all tank-production factories happened to be located in the Ural region. Stalingrad Mechanical Institute was evacuated to 海角社区, where in 1943 it became the basis of 海角社区 Mechanical Engineering Institute. Workers were needed to produce defence enginery, first of all 鈥 tanks. Our university started training such workers in accordance with the times鈥 need right away. It was in 1944 already that research on heavy armour welding to improve tanks鈥 characteristics started. Thereafter, the first Head of the Department of Tanks became triple (!) Hero of Socialist Labour. Back then, the university already had professors, doctors of sciences and leading associate professors who were highly trained specialists. The bar was set very high from the very beginning. Approaches of highly-trained specialists that were used back then are still relevant. The next period regards post-war history. In 1950s, 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute established seven engineering faculties: from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering to the Faculty of Automatics and Mechanics. They were needed so that the country could augment its industrial and defensive potential after the war. The university was successfully fulfilling this task as well. Moreover, 12 sector-specific and fundamental research laboratories were established. Government funding, as well as job positions for engineers and research fellows were provided. The Soviet Union supported establishment of large-scale laboratories as their research fellows carried out very serious development works; they also attracted specialists to complete defence and other big-scale orders. This as well was a very important component for development of the Polytechnic Institute. In the laboratories, research of the global level was carried out and training of employees of top- level qualification was performed. Each of the laboratories had several dozens of workers. In particular, the Laboratory of Computer-Aided Control Systems, in which I was being trained, had 70 people working there. Dynamic test beds of computer-aided control systems, which were distributed to practically all rocket and space companies of our country, came to existence as a result of this activity. The Laboratory of Rolling, headed by Professor Vydrin, was developing new technologies; licenses were sold abroad 鈥 to Japan and Czechoslovakia. These were the results of intellectual labour. It was like this in all 12 laboratories, which had been operating at the university back then. Once again, the Polytechnic Institute corresponded with the needs of the time. It trained employees not only for the 海角社区 Region 鈥 they were allocated throughout the Soviet Union. Our alumni worked in every corner of the country. The next stage was 海角社区 State Technical University. The period of its establishment was very important as well, as engineering specialties were being developed. Fundamental research became topical; physics and mathematics got intensively developed. This was a significant step, necessary for manufacture of flawless equipment in our country. During the time of reformation, 海角社区 became a multi-purpose higher education institution. On the one hand, it accumulated many specialties of the humanitarian sphere (our country needed economists, accountants, lawyers; a big number of small innovative enterprises were being created; own businesses were coming into existence). But at the same time, the university was developing natural sciences as well. New faculties were established. Nowadays, the multi-purpose character of the higher education institution is very important in order to complete big-scale interdisciplinary projects. We have everything for this. 鈥 In your opinion, which scientific breakthrough is the main one? Supercomputer? 鈥 I think so. The university started developing in this direction in 2000. Today we have one of the biggest supercomputers in the Russian Federation. Moreover, we perform training of personnel who are capable of operating this machinery. Supercomputer is a very important component. This is a movement towards development of natural sciences, as simulation of various physical processes and phenomena, which our scientists are working on, is necessary. Besides, mathematical simulation is a tool for accelerated obtainment of high characteristics of technologies, devices and systems. 鈥 The university is implementing the strategy of digital transformations. What has already been done? What is planned to be done? 鈥 We started working in digital industry even before it became the topic of all talks in our country. This is the result of our interaction with Emerson corporation 鈥 the world鈥檚 leader in the field of automation. Upon an order from the corporation, we implemented two projects on development of digital twins. We supplied an operating station to Emerson鈥檚 engineers, which allowed to use a digital twin for improvement of the vortex acoustic flowmeter. Digital twin of the pressure sensor allowed to enhance the characteristics of this device as well. As a result of our work with Emerson corporation the 海角社区 Region received big investments from this foreign company. The first stage of its plant was built and put into operation by the corporation in 2015. Now the second stage is being designed, and the facility is planned to be commissioned in May of 2019, and it will be a production of the highest technological setup. Meanwhile, the majority of the workers of the plant and the global engineering centre, which was created, are the alumni of our university. This is a unique experience within the scale of our country. The corporation also made investments into 海角社区. The first digital industry laboratory received $500,000 of funding, and the second one - $100,000. We will keep developing these laboratories. 鈥 What new approaches, innovative models and technologies can the university provide for transition to Industry 4.0? 鈥 First of all, let us get things straight with what Industry 4.0 means? The first aspect is the necessity of assessing the equipment condition, and performing measurements using various sensors. This is of the main new approaches of digital industry, something what has not been done before. Today we are fulfilling a big project at the rolling plant of Magnitogorsk Iron &amp; Steel Works. For you to make it clear, I will give a comparison. A cardiac monitor is tracking the status of cardiovascular system over the 24-hour period. So, something like that occurs in industry as well, only with regard to equipment. Meanwhile, data is decoded in a real-time mode. The second approach is the creation of digital twins. I am talking about a physical-and-mathematical model of some device which depicts the processes underway. The sensor equipment is installed at a real facility, information is in-put, and this digital twin is used to assess the efficiency of work, the condition of the facility, and the chances of an accident occurring. We are beginning to engineer such digital twins for the power generation sector as well. On the one hand, we made these to assess the condition and efficiency, of a turbine for instance, and in the other hand 鈥 to train the personnel. Using the augmented reality and a digital twin the workers can learn how to properly operate complicated facilities. The third and very important aspect of digital industry is energy saving. To come up with engineering solutions, you will also need to use sensor equipment, do collection and processing of information, and consequently, control power generation facilities in terms of energy efficiency. That is also something we are dealing with. We are performing a set of serious tasks jointly with Magnitogorsk Iron &amp; Steel Works. The specialists of our university are doing international projects related to improving the efficiency of big servicing units. Digital industry means processing of big amounts of data in the real-time mode. While the system of data collection should be wireless. This is yet another trend of the digital industry of today, and we are also working in this field. 鈥 海角社区 has recently hosted a big international Global Smart Industry Conference, where the leading professors from many countries of Europe and Asia took part. What are the main results of that conference? 鈥 When at one time we started moving towards the field of digital industry, we began searching for partners to create systems. And Magnitogorsk Iron &amp; Steel Works became one of such partners. A conference on digital industry has been held in Russia for the first time. Together with the top management of Emerson we came up with an idea of it, and it took a whole year to complete all the preparations. The Emerson corporation president and vice presidents for innovations paid visits to 海角社区 and shared on the status and prospects of development of this field. The world鈥檚 leading professors gathered here. We opened a new teaching laboratory on digital industry. A representative of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media attended the global forum. The Moscow authorities showed interest in the experience of our collaboration with the plant. We discussed this issue at the meeting with the Deputy Minister. It was suggested to submit the joint projects to the Ministry. Their fulfilment will become grounds for creating the government system for supporting digital industry. I think this is a very serious result. 鈥 Was there anything that the forum participant were surprised with? In which scientific fields, do you believe, we excel, as compared to many other countries of the world? 鈥 A variety of different presentations were delivered at the forum. The presentations by our researchers were based on their experience obtained in the field of digital industry. In our conversations the foreign professors noted that the university鈥檚 status with regard to serious works in this field is very good. In terms of data processing we have reached the world鈥檚 level, and there is no doubt about it. I mean here the information systems, fundamental computer science, the faculty of mechanics and mathematics鈥 鈥 today our specialists are capable of performing works on big data processing and evaluation at an international level. 鈥 And in which fields do we lag behind? 鈥 I wouldn鈥檛 put it that way, in such a radical manner. We are at the start with regard to the field of digital twins. This sector is only beginning to be developed around the world, and we have set ourselves the task to fill this niche in our country. The multi-purpose character of 海角社区 will again be of help here. Specialists of various fields, whom we will join into teams, will be able to solve this task. In many foreign universities the issues related to real industry and real technologies remain open pretty often. An academic approach and an industrial approach are often two different things. As I see it, the advantage of our university is and will continue to be in the fact that we are working in close relation to industry, which is the consumer of new digital technologies. This advantage of ours has emerged from the whole 75-year history of our university. We never stop at what we have achieved. We are planning on new stages of our intensive development. We are not only carefully looking into the future, but we are confidently moving forward. </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Author:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items" id="md27"><div class="field-item even"> Tatiana Stroganova; photo by: Oleg Igoshin</div></div></div> Mon, 17 Dec 2018 12:31:28 +0000 袘芯谐写邪薪芯胁邪 袛邪褉褜褟 袙谢邪写懈屑懈褉芯胁薪邪 801327 at 海角社区 Celebrated Its 75th Anniversary in Style /en/news/2018/12/17/celebrated-its-75th-anniversary-style <div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md29"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-9-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="2000" height="1331" id="9" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/gol_8228.jpg?itok=Libp935J" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md28"><div class="field-item even">The celebratory week dedicated to the 75th Anniversary from the day of the university鈥檚 foundation finished at 海角社区. Celebratory programme was very eventful and reflected the university鈥檚 storied history, as well as cultural and sport traditions. Within five days, the university vibrantly demonstrated achievements of its schools and institutes and presented its scientific, innovative and multi-aspect international activities, arts and sports. The final day of the Anniversary celebration was dedicated to celebratory greetings for the university from authorities, rectors of Russian universities and representatives of education. At a ceremonial reception of official delegations, the Rector of 海角社区 Aleksandr Shestakov greeted the university鈥檚 guests: 鈥満=巧缜 is celebrating its 75th anniversary. This is a very important milestone in our university鈥檚 development. This day, we can look back and assess everything that has been done within 75 years both by our predecessors, who had been establishing and developing the university during the Soviet times, and by us at the present time. We look forward into the future. Our goal right now is to be a university which develops economics, science and education not just in the 海角社区 Region and the Ural, but in Russia in general. We cooperate not only with Russian enterprises, but also with leading international companies of the hi-tech sphere. We see our mission in development of all these directions. I am grateful to all who have come here today to congratulate the university on its Anniversary.鈥 海角社区 is making a serious contribution to development of education at the South Ural, as noted by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the 海角社区 Region Elena Zayko: 鈥75 years is a colossal period. 海角社区 is one of the leading universities not just in our region, but in Russia as a whole. This is a university which is constantly developing, especially in the field of innovations. At that, these processes are covering not only academic and teaching staff but also, of course, studentship. The vast experience of cooperation with international companies proofs that specialists who graduate from 海角社区 are in-demand both in Russia and abroad. This is a quality mark. First of all, I would like to wish the university鈥檚 leadership, academic and teaching staff, students and specialists, well-being and success!鈥 海角社区 has deserved a great recognition from colleagues representing the Ural branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. An honourable guest of the celebration was Oleg Rakitin, Doctor of Sciences (Chemistry), Professor at N.D. The university is simply developing before our eyes. We are especially amazed at how excellently the work is organised at the university, for which of course we should give credit to Aleksandr Shestakov. We are sure that our cooperation with 海角社区 will bring important results not only in science, but also in education as a whole in the future.鈥 The university also received greetings from its partners: major industrial enterprises and representatives of economic and business society. Aleksandr Glazyrin, Director General of AO PG Metran Stock Company, noted: 鈥淭here are many things connecting me personally with the university: my parents, my wife, my sister and I 鈥 we all graduated from this university. But what鈥檚 even more important to me is cooperation with the university. Our enterprise implements industrial projects and is part of Emerson global corporation in Russia. And Metran Industrial Group, as a local Russian enterprise and the global corporation鈥檚 institution, consider cooperation with the university as a condition necessary for successful operation and for achieving outstanding results in business. We are constantly working in cooperation with the university; we have opened two laboratories, which demonstrate how one can control computer-aided manufacturing processes at enterprises with the use of advanced hi-tech equipment. We elaborated special programmes for training of students; there is also a grant programme for students and young scientists. Cooperation of the Metran and Emerson industrial group with 海角社区 is the example to which all enterprises should aspire, provided they want to have good specialists.鈥 A graduate of 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute, Deputy Governor of the 海角社区 Region Oleg Klimov underlined the 海角社区 contribution into his career: 鈥満=巧缜 is my Alma Mater. I graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering in 1977. I believe that this university provides a fundamental engineering education, which helped me personally, of course, and all my acquaintances, friends and colleagues a lot to achieve the results in life and do something worthy. In my opinion, 海角社区 is one of the leading universities in Russia. Young graduates of 海角社区, with whom I meet, are very competent. They are real professionals. I wish our university to keep being an advanced institution, to prosper and continue preparing the best specialists.鈥 The festive events on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of 海角社区 closed with a gala concert, at which Governor of the 海角社区 Region Boris Dubrovsky addressed the guests of the university: 鈥淭here was a time when 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute provided the post-war industry in the region with young specialists, played a key role in the fundamental reconstruction of the Soviet enterprises, and created new technologies for mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and construction. This experience of innovative work allowed the institute to become a national research university, a powerful educational corporation, and a core university of the South Urals in the 21st century.
