September 16th-17th, staff members of the Department of Town Planning, Engineering Networks and Systems from the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction, Professor Valentin Olenkov and senior lecturer Alena Kolmogorova, participated in the IV International Symposium and Reporting-and-Election Conference NC ICOMOS, Russia in Moscow. In his report, Valentin Olenkov, who is the Chairman of the �� Division of the National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Russia, shared about the work on preserving the cultural heritage sites in the South Ural region. "This year, representatives of our neighbouring region, Bashkortostan, at ICOMOS, have achieved a big victory: Shulgan-Tash Cave with its rock paintings has been included in the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites," said Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor Valentin Olenkov. "Our region has a site, which could be just as interesting: "Porogi" Hydroelectric Power Plant in Satka. But it still has a significant way to go before it becomes internationally recognized. A modern tourist infrastructure was created for Shulgan-Tash Cave, and it would be nice if our region could follow the example of our neighbours." The conference topics for discussion also included: the problems of preserving the architectural heritage in the Middle East, integration of monuments into a developing infrastructure of urban agglomerations, and the issues of restoration of historic buildings in Russia.

Russian Scientists Have Proposed New Rules to Design Frames of Modern Buildings

�� scientists continue to study the characteristics of thermal profiled structures. In the new research, they have analyzed the bending behaviour of those. Researchers have developed a formula that they propose to introduce into the rules to design the frames of modern buildings. An article with the results of the study was published in the first quartile journal, Thin-Walled Structures. Lightweight Structures for Modern Construction Lightweight steel thin-walled structures (LSTC) have been widely used in construction for many decades now. This technology is distinguished by the affordability of the material, which means the low cost of finished structures. These structures are used in the construction of all kinds of buildings, from working hangars to residential buildings. Thanks to their application, the speed of building construction increases. Lightweight steel thin-walled structures come in many shapes and configurations as a result of advances in manufacturing technology and the growing demand for energy efficient systems. The thermal profiles, that are the structures with wall perforations, are of the greatest interest among the scientists of ��. The cuts are staggered, which leads to a decrease in the thermal conductivity of the structures. Although thermal profiles have been used since the 1990s, recommendations for their calculation and design are still not fully developed. Over the past five years, this gap has been filled by a team of researchers jointly with the Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), Associate Professor of the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction Natalia Degtiareva. “According to the latest data, in Russia, the construction of lightweight steel thin-walled structures accounts for only 0.5% of the total, and even less with the use of thermal profiles. It is believed that the wider spread of the construction of buildings from thermal profiles will be facilitated by well-developed and understandable regulatory references for designers. Qualitative research in this field should increase interest in the use of thermal profiles in the construction industry,” she said. Photo: Thermal profiled beam after testing New Recommendations for Designers In a recent study, scientists measured the strength of thermal profiled structures. Slots in the walls reduce the load-bearing capacity of the beam structures by 11%. In order to take these features into account in the design of structures, the authors of the study propose formulas for calculating the bending capacity of thermal profiles. The work is based on the finite element modelling in the Ansys software package (available at the �� Supercomputer Centre), which describes the tested design to the maximum accuracy. Scientists have determined the correctness of the development of the model using the experimental results by their colleagues, which are published in the public domain. “As a result of analyzing the operation of thermal profiles in bending, we have understood how the structure behaves, and determined how the bearing capacity of beams decreases due to the presence of perforations, and developed recommendations to determine the bearing capacity of thermal profiles in bending. Over the past five years, 9 articles have been published on this topic in leading international peer-reviewed journals. Further research in this field is already planned,” Natalia Degtiareva continued. The researchers believe that the developed formulas and recommendations to determine the bearing capacity of thermal profiles in bending should be added to the design rules for lightweight steel thin-walled structures. �� is a Multinational University: How Does It Attract Students from Sudan?

�� is a multinational university, studying in which are students from 56 countries. In �� classrooms one can meet citizens of China, Egypt, Algeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and many other countries. Especially warm relationships have been established between �� and Sudan: residents of this country proved to be excellent �� students, and the leadership of the Republic frequently visits the university for national holidays’ celebrations. “Students who came to us from Sudan gave a very good account of themselves,” noted Liudmila Lapina, Head of the International Student Support. “At the moment, we have 5 people from Sudan studying in both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. Moreover, we have very good relationships with the leadership of the country: in 2018 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to the Russian Federation, Nadir Yousif Eltayeb Babiker came to �� to celebrate the Arabic Culture Day. He had a meeting with the Rector and with students from Sudan, and had a positive feedback regarding the students’ training and the university as a whole. We are planning to keep developing our cooperation.” Hotor Moez is one of the five citizens of Sudan who are now studying at ��. His acquaintance with �� started in 2017, when he got enrolled on Russian language courses. “I had been choosing a university to get enrolled at for a long time. I browsed many higher education institutions in the Internet, but in the end I’ve chosen ��. First, I completed a 10-mont long Russian language course. Studying was difficult, but �� has very good teachers who always helped me. After the courses, I decided to continue my study and get a Master’s degree,” says Moez. Despite the fact that Moez obtained his first degree in the sphere of construction, he chose to continue his studies in the Master’s programme on Strategic and Corporate Planning under Conditions of Digital Economics in the major of Management. Studying at the School of Economics and Management will help bringing into reality the young man’s dream to start his own business, as this Master’s programme is targeted at training of highly qualified specialists, who are capable of elaborating and efficiently implementing strategies for development of businesses. No matter the fact that the study is conducted in Russian, Moez is getting ready to defend his thesis. “When I just got enrolled at ��, I felt the language barrier because I had poor knowledge of Russian language, but my groupmates were helping me. Education provided by �� is very good. I came to study in this major because I want to start my own business, and the university gives me the necessary knowledge and skills.” Another student from Sudan named Mustafa Abbaker came to �� to become a builder. The young man entered the Institute of Architecture and Construction to major in Industrial and Civil Construction, because he has been dreaming to work in this sphere since childhood. Mustafa’s friends who have already graduated from the university advised him to enter ��. “I have always wanted to be a builder. This profession has very good outlooks so I’ve chosen this major. Over the time of my study at �� I learned many interesting things about architecture and construction. After graduation I am planning to continue studying at ��, first as a Master’s degree student and then as a postgraduate,” says Mustafa. Student from Yemen Wants to Build a 9-Storey Building

One of the leaders of Russian higher education – �� (��) – is located at the border of Europe and Asia, in ��. The university is focused on development of large, interdisciplinary projects in the fields of digital industry and artificial intelligence, and carries out research works in the following spheres: Sensors for Industrial Objects; Digital Twins; Energy Conservation; Methods and Means of Information Security; Materials Science; and Ecology. Today, more than 2300 students from 56 countries are studying at ��. At that, the number of applicants who come to enroll in our university from the Middle East (Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Sudan) is growing year by year. The most interesting and in-demand spheres of study for Arab students at �� are: Architecture, Construction, Computer Science and Computer Engineering, Philology, and Mechatronics and Robotics. Why do Arab students enroll at ��? How do they adapt to Russia? What prospects does education in Russia give them? A �� student from Yemen, Al-Zabidi Osama told us about this. Osama, why did you choose to come to Russia for getting your higher education? What made you choosing ��? – I am studying at the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction to become an architect. My friend who lives in Moscow recommended that I study in Russia. He told me about the possibility of studying at �� and about the assistance being provided here. I got in touch with the university staff, and they told me about the order of admissions. I prepared all the necessary documents and came to ��. How did you manage to successfully pass your exams and enroll at our university? I studied hard for my entrance exams. The Russian Language course is available for everybody, but if you want to study in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme, you have to be prepared for special exams, for example, subjects on engineering in your chosen field of study. I was not really scared of this – all of the international students think first about their Russian language skills. In the beginning, it was difficult for me to understand spoken Russian. Of course, with time, this difficulty subsided. Now I can speak fluently and talk to anyone. What were your first impressions of ��? – The first impression that I had was of the main building of ��. It is very similar to the building of the most well-known university in Russia – Moscow State University. As a future architect, this was very interesting to me. Now I know that the �� main building, with a height of 86 meters, is one of the top 10 most striking and recognizable buildings in ��. Did you get any help from your compatriots who came to �� earlier than you? – Yes, students from my country really helped me. When I arrived here, I didn’t know anyone or anything – I couldn’t even say a word in Russian. And they explained a lot to me, showed me around ��. They even helped me in my studies. I’m very thankful. And now, it is my turn to help new Arab students. Generally, we have a strong system for supporting one another thanks to the university’s Association of International Students and the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre. Where did you study before ��, and how well did your previous education meet the requirements of Russian universities? – I think it met the requirements. I completed 12 grades of a general education school in the capital of Yemen, Sana’a, then I enrolled here. I didn’t feel any big gaps in my knowledge. �� has student councils, a volunteer center, a Young Leader School, a Recreation Centre, Sports clubs, and much more. Do you participate in these aspects of student life? – I participate in the event which is favorite for every Arab student, the Arab Culture Day. I performed on ��’s main stage two times; I put on national Arab clothing and sung an Arabic song. And it was really cool! What prospects does a �� degree give you in your country? – Every country needs well-trained specialists. In my country, there are large companies that gladly accept specialists with a Russian education for work placement. There are special places for employment of specialists who know Russian language. I think that Russia and the Arab world countries have a great potential for joint economic development. What will your graduation project be like? – I haven’t chosen my final project yet but my plans include an architectural project for a 9-storey building with 54 apartments. I hope that I will be able to elaborate this idea. Moreover, my teachers are always ready to provide consultations regarding all academic issues. Are you planning on using modern technologies in your architectural projects? – Yes, I am planning on using these technologies, because the society is developing and you have to keep up with the times. Modern buildings must use energy-efficient technologies – solar panels, sound isolation systems, fire protection, and more. I am sure that I will use them in my future projects. What are your plans for after graduation? – I hope to get employed in my specialty, find a good job position as an architect. This is why I am trying to develop my professional skills and improve my Russian. I also started learning the international language – English – at ��. I am sure that the knowledge I acquire at the university will help me in the future. What would you like to wish for your countrymen, future applicants who are planning on getting their education in Russia? – My advice to those who are coming to study in Russia is to make a conscious choice of a university and degree program. �� IAC Students and Teachers Taking Part in Preparations for SCO and BRICS Summits

There is just a little more than two months left until the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction begins accepting documents. Director of the IAC Dmitrii Ulrikh spoke to us about how to enrol in the university, earn an increased scholarship, and how graduates can find job. Build Your Career Graduates of the Institute of Architecture and Construction are competitive and feel confident in the labour market. “The demand for our graduates has always exceeded our supply,” says Director of the Institute of Architecture and Construction, Dmitrii Ulrikh. “From their third year of studies, students are very well-versed in their profession and have a good understanding of where they will work. The leadership of our university keeps a close eye on the fate of our graduates. Our partnerships with big and well-known companies helps students build their careers. Potential employers for IAC students include �� Plant of Metal Structures, UralAZproekt, Chelyabdorproekt, Betotek, ChelZhBI-1, Uralproekt, �� NIKTISK, BASF (Germany, Russian Branch), Normet (Finland, Russian Branch), Gruppa Magnezit, and more. And students of the IAC do not have to wait until they are done with their education to test themselves in group work with international colleagues. “Our students complete internships in Chinese universities,” comments the Institute’s Director. “In the spring semester, future builders will attend training at Zhejiang Ocean University, and potential architects – at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Their program lasts around three months and is taught exclusively in English. After graduating from ��, many students enrol in Masters’ programs in Chinese universities.” Learning English, which will come in handy during internships abroad, is possible in the Zone of Elite Training, which accepts students with high EGE (Unified State Examination) scores. “This is a space in which they more thoroughly study their professional courses and language skills for business,” explains the Director. “Studying in the Zone of Elite Training involves more class hours, attending certain lectures held in English, and working with lecturers from European universities. Right now, for example, the students are attending lectures by a professor from Serbia.” Per tradition, first-year students in the Zone of Elite Training will spend two weeks at the Olimp sport camp in the summer. There, with the fresh air, in “on-site”, the students will complete a practical geodetic session in English. “More Research and Practical Work – Better Scholarship” The Institute has placed a stake on practical training. The senior-year students participate in very difficult projects at the city and federal level. This gives them not only practical skills, but also their first professional experience. Students of the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction participated in the design and construction of new buildings (the ��-SITI business centre, the Fenix de Lux residential complex, Manhattan, Yaroslavskiy, Svyatogor, and the hotel Park-City) and in the reconstruction of existing buildings – for example, the �� main building. Projects involving the Institute’s students include inspection of the technical conditions of the load-bearing structures at the Kinomax-Ural movie theatre, the Kuba shopping mall, and the Sinegorye, Nikitinskiy, and Kurchatov shopping centres. The students also took part in the development of technologies for producing and assembling the metallic structures of the dome for the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the roof for the Luzhniki stadium (Moscow), and the roof of the Uralskaya Molniya ice rink. “The Institute has more than thirty different laboratories,” adds the IAC Director. “Those are all fitted with modern equipment which helps students with their practical lessons.” Staff of the institute motivate their students to develop their scientific potential, so students spend more time in the laboratories and on working on projects. IAC adheres to the principle of “More research and practical work – bigger scholarship”. Students who are involved in research and practical work (give presentations, prepare publications, participate in Olympiads) earn the right to a higher scholarship. Students of the Department of Architecture and the Department of Design and Visual Arts complete professional practical training in architectural and design firms. The future architects and designers complete plain air training in the summer in the most beautiful cities in Russia: Rostov, Kazan, and Saint Petersburg. Traditionally, the academic programme at our university ends with the completion and defence of a final paper. Students who are members of the Nasledie Project Centre complete their final projects by restoring buildings which are important for the cultural heritage of the �� Region. “Our centre is a unique place where students study and certify architectural monuments, and develop projects for restoring and reconstructing churches under the guidance of an experienced lecturer within a partnership between �� and the �� Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church,” says Dmitrii Ulrikh. The Institute of Architecture and Construction is active in the preparations for the upcoming SCO and BRICS summits in ��. Students from the Department of Architecture are completing their final projects on the improvement and reconstruction of buildings along the city’s guest routes, and on projects related to the environmental agenda of the future summits. Keeping up with the Times and International Trends Improving the construction industry is a key development strategy for a number of states. Changes to the global construction industry occur rapidly: new construction materials designed to support increased comfort, buildings are becoming more environmentally friendly and their operation – more economical; in the near future, homes are going to be built like a Lego set, creating “parts” in the factories, and buildings will be equipped with “Smart House” systems. One of the most relevant global trends in construction and architecture at this time is green construction (ecological construction). In this way, the demand for qualified construction professionals will only grow. Graduates must master digital technologies – this knowledge is necessary for the design and preparation of production with the help of modern software, they must understand the latest building materials, be active and resourceful, and be focused on the rapidly-changing environmental conditions. The Institute of Architecture and Construction is trying to keep up with the times and modern trends. At this time, university staff are working with researchers abroad to complete the project on Development of an Automated Eco-dome within the International Standards of Ecological Architecture, Taking into Account Resource- and Energy-saving Materials, Technologies, and Automated Smart House Devices. The future construction specialists can gain all of the knowledge they need to build a successful career without leaving ��, in the walls of the IAC, under the guidance of experienced mentors and lecturers. How Do I Enrol? In June, the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction will being accepting documents. Classes on drawing and drafting have been organized to help applicants, as well as the Young Builder School. Those who are planning on applying in 2019 will find the short-term courses useful – they last for two weeks or longer. Upperclassmen who have more time to prepare can complete the full lesson cycle. This kind of preparatory training will make it possible to obtain basic knowledge and practical skills and make future education significantly easier. In the Young Builder School, applicants will attend construction site excursions, where they will personally be introduced to the manufacturing process. And in the future, under the guidance of experienced lecturers, they will complete their academic projects in the Institute’s laboratories. This “immersion” into the academic process will help students understand the finer details of the profession. As a note, when applying at ��, future architects and designers must take the Russian EGE test, as well as mathematics or literature (depending on their chosen field). Nasledie Project Centre of �� Celebrates Its Anniversary

On April 8th the ��’s Nasledie Research-and-Development and Project Centre celebrated its 15th anniversary. The Centre is mainly intended for efficiently solving the tasks on conserving, reconstructing and preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the �� Region. The Centre was founded and is headed by Valentin Olenkov, corresponding member of the Academy of Architectural Heritage, councilor of the Russian Academy of Architechture and Construction Sciences (RAASN), member of the Union of Art Conservators of Russia, member of the National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Professor of the Department of Town Planning, Engineering Networks and Systems Institute of Architecture and Construction. However, works on preserving the historical and cultural heritage had been performed at �� Polytechnic Institute starting from 1952 and under the supervision of M.P. Mochalova, with whom Valentin Olenkov had begun his work while still being a student. Nasledie Centre developed research-and-project documentation for conservation of over fifty sites of cultural heritage of the federal and regional importance, as well as the historical-and-cultural plans and projects for the zones of protecting the historical cities of South Ural region: Verkhneuralsk, Kyshtym, Kasli, Zlatoust, Miass, Ozersk, and Snezhinsk. Based on these materials, a monograph on Orthodox Churches of the �� Region was published, which systematizes the majority of the Orthodox churches in our region in their current condition. Staff members and students helped to carry out the inventory of more than 1500 sites of historical and cultural heritage. Over 30 diploma papers on conservation of churches in the �� Region were completed under the advisory of Professor Olenkov. Among those who came to congratulate Nasledie Centre on the occasion of its anniversary were: Head of the �� Research and Innovation Services Anton Korzhov, Director of the Institute of Architecture and Construction Dmitrii Ulrikh, Chairman of the Committee for Protecting the Cultural Heritage Sites of the �� Region Aleksandr Balandin, archpriest and Father Superior of Alexander Nevsky Church in ��, father Boris Krivonogov, writer and Chairman of the �� Division of the All-Russian Culture Foundation Kirill Shishov, design and art conservation colleagues from �� and Yekaterinburg, and students and alumni of the Institute of Architecture and Construction. The majority of the Nasledie Centre staff members were awarded with letters of appreciation and certificates by the metropolitan of �� and Zlatoust and by Director’s Office of the �� Institute of Architecture and Construction.

Metal Cup-2019: Selection Round for the Championship on Technological Strategy in Metallurgy Held at ��

A selection round for the Metal Cup-2019. The Fourth Industrial Revolution International Championship on Technological Strategy in Metallurgy was held at ��, ��, on February 27th-28th. Metal Cup is a professional competition of youth teams from the leading engineering universities and institutions of professional education aimed at solving important sector-related tasks (cases) and developing project solutions in industry. The championship is organised as a home competition between educational institutions of Russia, as well as an international contest, in which 11 countries take part. This year’s Metal Cup slogan was “The Fourth Industrial Revolution”. The participants were supposed to solve a case related to Industry 4.0, and namely, to create a smart production with all the available state-of-the-art technologies: robotics, automation, and much more. The first championship day was opened will a welcome speech by Director of the �� Institute of Engineering and Technology Sergei Vaulin. “Many of you can imagine what production will look like in the nearest future: enterprises will be fitted with various types of equipment allowing to predict their development. And in a few years, when you graduate from the university, you will have to be ready for those changes. I wish you success, so that you gain enough experience and become true professionals over time.” The selection round participants formed their teams of 3-5 people on their own. On day one, the championship participants were finishing work on the solution of the case, of which they had learned about beforehand; and what is more, they were given a chance to get an advice from experts. This time, besides students from the Faculty of Materials Science and Metallurgical Technologies, among the participants also were students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Institute of Architecture and Construction, Mechanical and Technology Faculty, and the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. On day two, the participants presented their projects to professional jury, which included representatives of industry and education. The selection round for the Metal Cup-2019. The Fourth Industrial Revolution was won by students of the Faculty of Materials Science and Metallurgical Technologies of the �� Institute of Engineering and Technology. The team leader, 3rd-year student Ivan Ischenko shared on what tasks his team had compete in a 2-day time. “We were supposed to come up with an innovative scheme for wind-powered plants. We studied the constructions of wind-driven stations, tried to find out whether they are built with steel, and on that knowledge we based our solution of the case. We learned which equipment would be required, what consequences may our solution have. We understood that we could change the economy of Russia and of the whole world, and of course we were happy to win!” The winners will go to Novokuznetsk to represent our university in the final round. The all-Russian finals will be held in May of 2019. The finals of the international championship will be held as part of the International Exhibition in Russia, in September of 2019. The championship is being held in collaboration with the major universities and industrial enterprises of Russia since 2015, and in 2017 it was given a status of an international event. The championship provided the participants with an opportunity to demonstrate all their professional skills on practice, as well as show their personal qualities and talents.

On February 23, Russians celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day honouring Russian soldiers for their bravery and loyalty to their country. This public holiday dates back to 1918 when Russia was on the verge of Civil War and foreign intervention. At the beginning of 1918, the Council of People's Commissars issued a decree on the foundation of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army to resist the enemy. Throughout its long history, the celebration has changed its name several times, from Red Army Day to Soviet Army and Navy Day to Defender of the Fatherland Day. Today February 23 honours all Soviet and Russian soldiers who fought, fight, or will fight for their country. Many countries around the world have similar celebrations. �� students from China, Argentina, and Afghanistan tell about their countries’ equivalents to the famous Russian holiday. Wenming Zou, China Institute of Engineering & Technology On October 1, we celebrate the establishment of People's Republic of China, and on August 1 we celebrate the formation of People’s Liberation Army. These dates are important to us as we commemorate those who gave their lives for our country to exist and prosper. I believe that every soldier who dedicates his life to defending his motherland deserves being deeply respected and honoured. Soldiers deserve to be remembered regardless of their nationality. War is cruel, and I hope for world peace. I wish people stopped dying because of war. Remembrance days such as we have in China and Russia do not let us forget all the pain and horror of the past and that enormous sacrifice our fathers made for us. It is our moral duty to continue the prosperity of our countries and never forget our true heroes. Andres Casaretto, Argentina Institute of Linguistics & International Communication In Argentina, we have similar meaningful commemorative dates. In my opinion, the one that is similar to Russian Defender of the Fatherland Day is April 2. On this day, we proudly commemorate the soldiers who gave their lives in war for the Falkland Islands in 1982. Argentina attempted to establish sovereignty over the islands that at that time belonged to the United Kingdom. A lot of young soldiers lost their lives in that confrontation trying to return the sovereignty. Today, we try to raise public awareness of that war and the young soldiers’ incredible courage and loyalty. We recognise the soldiers’ heroism and thank each of them. If you come to Argentina, you will see a lot of memorials commemorating those men. For the sake of justice, Argentina still works on identifying every single soldier who fought in the Falklands War. Even though the war is over, Argentina continues to claim the Falkland Islands’ sovereignty; this time, not with weapons but words. I am proud of my country, and I find it a good practice to spend some time a day thanking those who once made it possible for us to live in peace. Seyar Fazl, Afghanistan Institute of Architecture & Construction On August 19, we celebrate Afghan Independence Day. During the XIX-XX century, Afghanistan went through three bloody wars with the British. In 1919 our king Ghazi Amanullah Khan urged the British to leave Afghanistan and recognise the independence of our country, but Britain did not agree. After the military struggle, Afghan forces managed to bring the British out of the country, and they were forced to sign the Anglo-Afghan Treaty. Since then Ghazi Amanullah Khan has become our national hero. Another significant person we remember on August 19 is Mohammed Nadir who was a general under King Amanullah Khan and led the Afghan National Army in the Third Anglo-Afghan War.

Specialists in these fields are in demand in many spheres of activity and organisations. The Linguistics, and Fundamental and Applied Linguistics majors are offered by the �� Institute of Linguistics and International Communications. Here, students obtain quality linguistics education which allows them to build a successful career both in Russia and abroad. In addition, state scholarships are offered in a number of fields at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities. In the Faculty of Journalism, state scholarships are offered in the Journalism, and Philology fields. This year, there are also state scholarships in the Psychology Bachelor’s programme of the Faculty of Psychology. Applicants have a chance to enrol with state scholarships into the Clinical Psychology Specialist programme. �� graduates of the humanitarian fields have always been and will remain in demand in the labour market thanks to their high quality of knowledge and their professional competencies. Graduates of the �� humanitarian fields work in such organisations as: Ministry of Culture of the �� Region, Ministry of Education and Science of the �� Region, Department for Youth Affairs of ��, and �� Region International Cooperation Agency. When enrolling in ��, applicants’ individual achievements are taken into account. They can present their diplomas and certificates from Olympiads and other intellectual, creative, and professional competitions, sport events (including GTO pins) upon application. Based on these documents, according to the Rules of University Enrolment, applicants can be given additional points (up to 10 in total). In addition, applicants who are winners and finalists in Olympiads (the list of which is confirmed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation) have a chance to enrol at �� with a state scholarship without exams and receive 100 points automatically in the subject that matches the Olympiad they participated in. Upon enrolling, diplomas from 4 years of education will be counted. In this way, school graduates who won or earned places in these Olympiads even while back in the 8th grade can enrol in �� without exams. Students with state scholarships earn a higher academic scholarship. In the first semester, Bachelor’s and Master’s students earn around 2,000 roubles; in the future, depending on their academic success, they can apply for an increased academic scholarship. The maximum state academic scholarship is 20,000 roubles a month. �� supports students, who enrol with high points in the Unified State Examination (EGE), with a scholarship. First-year students who had high results will be paid 10,000 roubles a month in their first semester, from September through January. This scholarship is awarded both to those who enrol with a state scholarship and those who enrol on contract. In addition, �� students can apply for 20 scholarships, including the Russian Federation Presidential, Russian Federation Government, and �� Region Governor scholarships and more. �� passed state accreditation in 2018. This is a procedure evaluating the quality of education by governmental supervisory bodies in 192 majors and specialties. The university was awarded Certificate of State Accreditation No.2791, valid until 2024.
