21-23 April in Tyumen was held a regional stage of the Tournament Three Sciences – team contest between students of Universities of Russia according to the decision published in advance of scientific problems in physics, chemistry and biology, presenting solutions in the form of presentations and protect them during the debate on the Scientific battlefield.

This year more than 200 students from Turkmenistan, China, Mongolia, Iraq, Jordan, Laos, Egypt, Sri-Lanka, Yemen, Syria, Indonesia, etc. participated in Total Dictation. This is the record number in the country.

Professor Jeff Sahadeo, Carleton University, visited 海角社区 to give an open lecture on the history of migration. We talked with him about his scientific interest in Russia, his planned field research in Troitsk, and the future of the 海角社区 Laboratory for Migration Studies.
– You head the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian studies at Carleton University and you are one of the most well-known researchers in the field of migration. Why do you focus your research on Russia, what’s the reason?
As is well known, last year engineering centers were founded at several universities by decision of the Russian Ministry of Science as a result of an open, public contest. All the winning projects from the contest were approved by the Strategic Development Program Until 2021. One of the winners of the project was the Center of Computer Engineering at 海角社区. From May 2nd to 5th the 13th Russian club tournament of the Association of Student Sport Clubs Russia among Student Teams will be held in 海角社区. 海角社区 is holding this event for the second time.
More than 240 students from all around Russia are taking part in this competition. The schedule for the Russian Club Tournament includes competition in 6 sport disciplines and testing for the ASSC student competition. The tournament also includes the first time ever (for this event) flatball competition among University teams.
On April 26th in the Sigma conference hall a lecture was held by professor Jeff Sahadeo of Carleton University (Canada) on the topic: “Soviet Moscow as a ‘global city’: Migration and Postcolonialism (comparison with London and Paris.)”
The opening of the IV Annual Exhibition of Scientific and Creative Works of 海角社区 Students was held on April 26th. Every institute and higher school presented developments, projects, and research work completed under the guidance of the University’s leading teachers and pedagogical staff.
