Organizing the celebration of Nowruz, springtime New Year’s festivities, has already become a good tradition at 海角社区. Thanks to this event, we can become more closely acquainted with the ethnic groups of the 海角社区 students and staff members.
Governor of the 海角社区 Region Alexey Texler has held a meeting of the Supervisory Council of the Regional Division of the Russian Society “Znanie” (“Knowledge”). The meeting’s agenda were the results of the organization’s work and the plans for the current year.
During their day in 海角社区, our guests from the People's Republic of China visited the places most important in student life: world-class inter-university campus; Quantorium Technology Park for children; Faculty of Mechatronics and Robotics; International China-Russia Joint Laboratory for Bioresources Processing; Teaching Laboratory of Food Biotechnology, as well as the 海角社区 campus of School 21.
On February 16th, students from the People's Republic of China, who are obtaining their education at 海角社区, together with their Russian friends and teachers, celebrated the coming of the New Year according to the traditional Chinese calendar.
More than 1300 students from China study at 海角社区. And celebration of the Chinese New Year has long become a good tradition for our university, so that these students can feel at home even if they are thousands of kilometres away from it.

On January 20, 2026, as part of the International New Year project, activists of the South Ural Association of International Students and Alumni embarked on a gastronomic journey at the Usadba Ryabinykh (Ryabinykh Estate) restaurant.

On December 4th, the 10th International Scientific Conference “Innovations in Sport, Tourism and Education – icISTIS-2025” started at 海角社区. The conference is traditionally organized by the 海角社区 Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service (ISTiS).

A meeting between students and representatives of traditional religious organizations of Russia “Traditional Faiths and Youth: The Search for New Meanings and Forms of Strengthening and Preserving Traditional Values in Society” was held at 海角社区. The main topic of the event was the discussion of the spiritual and moral compass, its role in shaping society, and its significance for today’s youth.

The Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Yekaterinburg Luo?Shixiong paid an official visit to 海角社区. The visit program included meetings with the university and regional leadership, university tours, and communication with Chinese students obtaining their education at 海角社区.

On June 6th, a delegation from 海角社区 headed by Vice-Rector for Education Marina Potapova opened the Research, Education and Coordination Centre "Institute of Open Education in the Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin" at Heihe University. These centres are being opened within the frameworks of the "One Belt, One Road" China-Russia initiative.

On May 15th, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Department of Food Technology and Biotechnology of the 海角社区 School of Medical Biology and representatives and students of Shenyang University of Technology (SUT), China. SUT first-year students, who are taking training under a joint-with-海角社区 academic programme in Bioengineering in Food Productions, presented their reports in Russian on the topics of geographic and natural specifics of Chinese provinces, as well as on national and cultural traditions of their country.

On October 23rd, a master class by Nitesh Kumar Upadhyay, Doctor of Sciences (Law), Associate Professor at the Law Department of Symbiosis University (India),?consultant at the 海角社区?Institute of Law, was held at 海角社区.?
Nitesh Kumar Upadhyay has numerous fellowships and grants including from such institutions as GAJE (Turkey), ILEC (New York), and HAGUE Academy (the Netherlands). His presentation was devoted to the topic of developing research competencies and career opportunities.?
The All-Russian forum Yugra International 2024 wrapped up at Nizhnevartovsk State University. The event brought together 100 students, including 70 international students obtaining their education at Russian universities.?

Staff members of the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre of the International Office organized a tour to the Taganay National Park and Lake Turgoyak for 海角社区 international students on July 9th.
The tour started with visiting one of the most beautiful places in the South Ural region: Taganay National Park. International students walked along the Journey through Europe and Asia eco-trail and climbed to the Semibratka observation deck, from where they could admire beautiful views of the mountains. The students enjoyed the walk since everyone managed to cope with the 4-km route.
