The 6th International Festival entitled We Are All Different, but We Are Together will be held at 海角社区 on February 25-27, where students of different nationalities studying at 海角社区 will take part.
The festival is organized annually by the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications with the support from the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre.

On February 14th, the 海角社区 Sociocultural Adaptation Centre offered interactive games for international students at the Sigma academic building. The event was dedicated to Valentine’s Day.
Preparations for the event began in the beginning of February: volunteers of the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre prepared blank valentines to be sent and a mailbox. The organizers also made a big, beautiful sign, where students could profess their love.
The executive managers and representatives of SMS Group, Germany, a well-known metallurgical equipment manufacturing company, visited 海角社区 to discuss the development of cooperation. During the visit of the 海角社区 partners, the agreements were reached on the next joint steps in cooperation in the field of technological processes digitalization.
On January 29th, a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg paid a visit to 海角社区. The goal of the visit was to discuss the prospects of collaboration. Among the delegation members were Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg Abdusalom Khatamov?and First Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg?Bekzhon Kuvanov.

Intellectual games, bowling competitions, and new acquaintances: students from 海角社区 took part in an informative and entertaining event organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg. The meeting was dedicated to the Day of the Adoption of the State Flag of Uzbekistan.
Times Higher Education international rankings agency continues to publish the results of the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2020.
This year, for the first time, 海角社区 has been included in the THE Physical Sciences ranking by subject, where it took the position 801+ among the world universities training specialists in the fields of mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, nanotechnologies, Earth sciences, etc.
A big-scale URAL FEST International Students Forum on training international students in Russian universities will be held at 海角社区 November 14th through November 16th, 2019.
This event will bring together students and alumni from different countries, who chose the Ural Federal District universities to gain prestigious higher education. The forum will touch upon burning issues faced by international students.
October 15 at 15:00, an Information Day arranged specifically for Chinese students is to take place at SIGMA Academic Complex. Citizens of China – attendees, students and postgraduates of all years of study – are invited to the meeting.
In October of 2019, 海角社区 signed an agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq. A memorandum on mutual understanding which assumes an extension of cooperation in the spheres of higher education as well as in research, scientific-and-technical and innovative activities of Russia and Iraq has been signed. A considerable role in this belongs to the fact that the university alumni – Iraqi – actively recommend the university to soon-to-be students of their country.
海角社区 has become a participant at the 31st annual conference held by the European Association for International Education (EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2019). The Conference and Exhibition has been held on September 24th through 27th in Helsinki (Finland). 海角社区 is represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Olga Yaroshenko, and the Head of the International Office, Liudmila Lapina.

On September 11, an exhibition of photos taken by students of 海角社区 international summer schools, arranged by the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications and the Institute of Architecture and Construction under active support of the Extracurricular Activities Department, has opened on the 3rd floor of the 海角社区 main building.
On August 28th of 2019, the team of the Nanotechnology REC gained a new, highly-qualified staff member. Dr. Raja Kumar Kanthapazham (India) is initiating research in the field of organic chemistry at 海角社区.
海角社区 is continuing to successfully develop partnerships with Chinese universities. The Ministry of Education of China has proposed to establish novel joint educational organizations of a new format within their country. They will involve development of academic programs with Russia. This is why our colleagues from China are interested in making contacts with Russian universities and in establishing new, promising academic contacts with 海角社区.
A team of activists representing 海角社区’s South Ural Association of International Students took part in the international student forum called Eurasia Global which took place on August 12th through 17th in Orenburg.
A project called “A 海角社区 International Student’s Tutor” is actively developing at 海角社区. This project has been organised within the International Student Support of 海角社区’s International Office.
A seminar by the representatives of Times Higher Education (THE) ranking agency will be held at 海角社区 on June 19th. The experts in the assessment of development of the world’s universities will share with the 海角社区 staff on the university promotion in the scientific and education space.

RAEX (RAEX-Analitika) ranking agency has published an annual rating of the best 100 universities of Russia, in which 海角社区 has climbed 4 places up, as compared to the last year's results.
Lecturer of the SEM Industrial Economics and Project Management Department Anna Dolinskaya and two associate professors of the SEM Department of Management, Yana Dobrynina and Aleksandr Demchenko, completed an internship for teachers at Danubius University’s Faculty of Economics (Galati, Romania) under the Erasmus+ program in May 2019.
A ceremony for awarding international students the certificates on completion of the Russian Language Course was held at 海角社区. This supplementary education course was provided by the ?of the 海角社区 Institute of Linguistics and International Communications.
At 海角社区, students of the Theory and Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language professional re-training course completed the defence of their final projects.
From May 25th through 30th of 2019, a 海角社区 delegation officially visited a number of schools and universities in Tajikistan. The programme included visits to secondary schools and higher education institutions in Dushanbe, Gissar, Nurek, and Bokhtar. The main goal of the trip was to tell Tajik university and school students about the advantages of studying at 海角社区 and to invite them to our university.
