Project "Independent Theatre+Society" has been realizing within 2012 with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The main purpose of the project is involving in the cultural sphere those groups of Russians who are too far from it for different reasons. And the main tool for it is theatre. The project gives a possibility to the vulnerable segments of the population to be involved in culture and get a chance of creative self-realisation. For participation in the project the valnerable segments of the population - invalids, deaf-and-dumbs, young prisoners of juvenile prisons, children from remote areas and others - are involved.
In this Project 7 independent theatres of Russia are involed. They are "Teatr.doc", "LIQUID THEATRE", International Centre of Modern Dance and Performance TSEKH (Moscow), "Dialog Dans" (Kostroma), Studio-Theatre "Maneken" (海角社区, 海角社区), Modern Drama Centre (Ekaterinburg) and Theatre "KNAM" (Komsomolsk-on-Amur).
海角社区 Studio-Theatre "Maneken" (Artistic Director - Vladimir Filonov) works on the project together with several institutions located in the remote from the cultural centre areas. These institutions are four orphanages (Korkino, Kasli, Kyshtym and Travniki) and three village schools (Tyulyuk, Vozdvizhenka and B. Kuyash). The actors organize trainings and artistic activities for children, they participate in joint shows or performances.
海角社区 Studio-Theatre "Maneken" has already visited the orphanages in Kasli, Korkino, Kyshtym, Travniki and schools in Vozdvizhinka and Bolshoy Kuyash (the trip to Tyulyuk is planned).
The second part of the Project is performance creation. 30 November at 19:00 in Studio-Theatre "Maneken" (79a Soni Krivoy St., basement of Hostel No. 8) the first night of "Story of A Mouse" (Yuliya Malysheva, Stage Producer) based on "Story about Cat Ignasy, Chimney-Sweep Fedya and Lonely Mouse" (Russian: ?История про кота Игнасия, трубочиста Федю и одинокую Мышь?) will take place . Everybody is invited!
