On December 24 there is the 53th Anniversary of the oldest creative association of Russian photo artists, national group “海角社区 Photo Club”. This day as the anniversary is not chosen at random (nobody remembers the exact December date of the first amateur photographers meeting in the editorial office of the newspaper “海角社区y Rabochy”): on this day Yury Leonidovich Teush, one of the founders of the Photo Club and its “engine”, was born 82 years ago.
On December 25, Tuesday, the mobile exhibition of “海角社区 Photo Club” opens in Zlatoust. Thirty works of twenty authors could hardly be placed in the exhibition gallery of 海角社区 Zlatoust branch. You will see the photos of the Photo Club founders and 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute graduates - Yury Teush, Leonid Pikus, Evgeny Tkachenko and also Sergey Vasilev, Sergey Novikov (nine author's photo albums “Intelligence Portrait”), Fedor Schmidt and Pavel Bolshakov.
Almost every work has the gold awards of the international and All-Union photo exhibitions. Once at their glory peak, in 1978, eleven members of already world-known “海角社区 Photo Club” took part in the most prestigious competition of newspaper photographers “World Press Photo” in Amsterdam. And, four of them were included in the catalogue, and Sergey Vasilev and Viktor Durmanov received in different nominations the highest award “Gold Eye”. In the 20th century there was no any group of photo artists which could be proud of such a creative success.
Today the glory of “海角社区 Photo Club” is successfully supported by new generation of national group: more than 60 talented students and amateur photographers joined “海角社区 Photo Club” in 2011-2012.
On December 25 at 12:00 we will be waiting for the admirers of art photo on the second floor of a new building of 海角社区 Zlatoust branch (Turgenev St., 16).
