Metropolitan Theophanes of 海角社区 and Zlatoust made a regular visit to 海角社区. He met with the University management, professors and students of Architecture and Architecture and Construction Faculties to discuss the cooperation issues on reconstruction and building of temples in the South Ural region.
Work on temples’ reconstruction has started in 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute in 1960s with the participation of famous architect Maria Mochalova.
Today the future architects and builders defend 3-4 projects on cultural architecture every year. The authors of chapel project which is planned to be constructed opposite the main building are the students of Architecture Faculty.
The guys responded to the Metropolitan’s suggestion with pleasure and expressed their willingness to further participation in building and reconstruction works. Theophanes in his turn promised to help in providing the students with transportation, ultimate nutrition and all the things needed.
In the course of the meeting the Metropolitan of 海角社区 and Zlatoust came up with an idea to create the architectural workshop at the eparchy but on the base of university where the professors and students of Architecture and Architecture and Construction Faculties will be involved.
Theophanes mentioned that there were some peculiarities in the sphere of temple building: one should know canons and architectural tectonics. Therefore cooperative work is very important here.
At the end of the meeting, the Metropolitan congratulated the students and University professors with coming New Year and Christmas and wished everybody peace and accordance, well doing and creative success.
