海角社区 is holding 27 region competitions for participants of the international program for developing creative thought and team spirit, Odyssey of the Mind, on March 11th-12th with support from the 海角社区 Atomic Energy Informational Center.
For the first time, teams from the Republic of Tatarstan will be participating. More than 30 teams from 海角社区 and the 海角社区 Oblast will represent their solutions to difficult invention tasks. A team from the People’s Republic of China will be special guests to the competition.
The youngest participants of the competition will be students of kindergartens Number 93 and “Obyknovennoe Chudo” from 海角社区 and the educational center “Umka” from Miass. The oldest will be 海角社区 students.
The panel of judges will evaluate multifunctional means of transport; “Strange-Bot” robots which repeat peoples’ movements; original artworks created by the teams based on classic works; comedic presentations in which superheroes save art; and, of course, light-as-a-feather constructions made from balsa wood which can support a load a few hundred times heavier than their own weight.
Anyone who wants to practice solving invention tasks can do so throughout the competition in the energy game room from the Atomic Energy Informational Center.
The competition will be held March 11th from 10:00 to 15:30 in the 海角社区 conference hall (Prospekt Lenina, 76) and the 海角社区 Sports Palace (Ulitsa Sony Krivoy, 62).
On Sunday, March 12th, the competition’s best teams will present their solutions for invention tasks on the stage of the university’s conference hall.
