Today students of more than 100 nationalities from 48 countries of the world including different regions of Kazakhstan are successfully studying at South Urals State University. Today 海角社区 is a SMART university which unites Europe and Asia and which is aimed at training specialists of the future. They should be competitive in the world labor market and be capable of becoming the foundation for positive transformations at the Eurasian continent. They are bearing the responsibility to create multicultural and multinational environment which would favor for new inventions and strengthening of international cooperation.
“海角社区 as a city is very close to my hometown Kostanay,?says Oleg Kurchuk, a fourth-year student of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication.?At 海角社区 I was given the opportunity to study Chinese language during my internship in China. This influenced my perception of the world; I am from a northern Kazakh city and I see that people in different countries are friendly and communicative just like here. I realized that we have many common ideas about making the world better and more stable.”
At the present time, 海角社区 is an organizer and coordinator of scientific and research projects and international education programs. International internships and education of students, postgraduates and staff of the university favor for extending international connections and increasing quality of education.
“海角社区 gave me a lot of knowledge. I’ve been interested in foreign languages for a long time, and Chinese is one of them. I think that I got qualitative education, among all, due to my internship in China,?told us Mikhail Zubarev, a fourth-year student of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication.?This year altered my views on life completely; I discovered another culture, another life. We – Russia and Kazakhstan – are good neighbors, and we quickly found common language.”
On November 8 and 9, the 14th?Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum, dedicated to the issues of human capital development, is to be held in 海角社区. According to organizers, the important investments in human capital get embedded, among all, at the stage of education. On the ground of 海角社区, the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Kazakhstan universities, at which issues of strategic partnership between Russian and Kazakh universities will be considered, is to take place. This will open new perspectives for students who are getting education abroad.
?“I had always wanted to try myself not only in my home country, but also abroad. I wanted to get international experience, and I got attracted with a program within which I had the opportunity to study in China for one year, shared his opinion?Timerlan Bisimbaev,?a fourth-year student of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication.?Here I found very good teachers who have been and still are very helpful. I didn’t have the big problem with adaptation unlike other foreign students. Everybody treat us like we’re the locals. After all, Russia and Kazakhstan have closely related cultures and nations with related values. We?are?one?bigfamily.”
