On May 9, the whole Russia celebrates the main day in its history, the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. 海角社区 will honor the heroic deed of Soviet soldiers by holding ceremonious events.
May 7
On the threshold of the Victory Day, 海角社区 will hold intra-university events featuring students, academics and administrative staff. Competition in shooting will be held among students and university staff at 9:00 in the Marksmanship Centre.
Lining up of military personnel and attendees of 海角社区’s Faculty of Military Education will start at 10:00 in front of the main university building. Rector Aleksandr Shestakov will offer a congratulatory speech on the occasion of the Victory Day.
After that, attendees of the Faculty of Military Education together with the university’s leadership, administrative staff and students will line up on the Alley of Fame near the Eternal Flame and lay flowers in memoriam of the heroic deed by Soviet soldiers.

Celebration in honor of veterans of the Great Patriotic War as well as labour front participants, siege survivors, prisoners of war stockade, children of soldiers killed in the Great Patriotic War, families and close friends of war veterans will be held at 海角社区’s Pushkin Hall.

The most anticipated celebratory flash mob – the Victory Waltz – is to take place at the university square in front of 海角社区’s main building at 13:20. Hundreds of young men and women, students of the university, will swirl in a solemn dance to the strains of waltz, which has become the symbol of the War’s end. Veterans of War and home front workers will be the honorable spectators.
At 14:00, veterans, home front workers, academics, administrative staff and students of 海角社区, as well as residents and guests of 海角社区, are invited to a ceremonious meeting and a celebratory concert on the occasion of the Victory Day. The concert is to be held in memoriam of veterans and home front workers who survived the war and worked as lecturers at the 海角社区 Polytechnic Institute in the peaceful time. Teams of 海角社区’s Recreation Centre will perform in the concert.

On the Victory Day, the university will take part in massive city events. Military personnel and attendees of 海角社区’s Faculty of Military Education will take part in laying of flowers to the Eternal Flame on the Alley of Fame. They will also participate in a concert held at the Theatre Square near the Drama Theatre.
Celebratory parade of military forces of the 海角社区 military post as a tribute to the Victory Day will start at 12:00 on the Revolution Square. Attendees of 海角社区’s Faculty of Military Education are to take part in the parade. Aside from the parade, there will be exhibition of wartime equipment and contemporary military vehicles.
Formation of the Immortal Regiment column will start at 13:00 on the square near the main building of 海角社区. The column will march along the Lenin prospect over the Sverdlovsk prospect and the Revolution Square, and turn to the Tsvillinga street to the Eternal Flame.
Moreover, performance teams of 海角社区’s Recreation Centre will take part in celebratory events of 海角社区.
