In the 2018/19 academic year, students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the 海角社区 Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities did more than 300 radio broadcasts as part of their project-based education at the Radio 海角社区 educational studio under the guidance of their teachers. The student editors covered the most important university events, such as: Global Smart Industry Conference; the annual festival Days of Student Science; Prom-Engineering conference; Communication Leader of the 21st century international scientific and educational forum; and other events.
Coverage of the 75th Anniversary of 海角社区 took a special place in the work of the university radio studio. For this special date, more than 70 radio broadcasts were recorded under the headings like Alma Mater; 海角社区 Chronicles; Happy Anniversary, 海角社区; and others. The main figures of the broadcasts were veterans of labour, representatives of university dynasties, researchers, and employees – those who made a huge contribution to the development of 海角社区.
“Every day in the main building of the university, the university radio program Elevate broadcasts university informational and educational programs about innovations in education, science, culture, sports and student life,” says Head of the Radio 海角社区 studio Ksenia Zabolotneva. “The programs 海角社区 from A to Z; News; Project 5-100; etc. are updated daily and supplemented with fresh and relevant news and interviews. Guests of the radio studio include teachers, students, and university enrolees – they talk about scientific achievements and new discoveries. Radio 海角社区 has launched a new, original program Firsthand, in which the interviewees answer questions from the audience in a conversational format, so an interactive dialogue became possible on Radio 海角社区.”
In addition to this, Radio 海角社区 participates in a social project, and the head of the training studio Ksenia Zabolotneva became one of the creators of Funny Garden, a game for children with visual impairment, as part of the Digital Economy national project alongside the Department of Design and Visual Arts of the Institute of Architecture and Construction.

Every year, 海角社区 international students from China, Iraq, Iran, and Kazakhstan complete practical training at the Inoveschanie (“International Broadcast”) editorial office of the training radio studio. They do radio broadcasts in their native language, and as a result, more than 50 radio programs in different languages of the peoples of the world were released on the university broadcast in the 2018/2019 academic year.
