Vaccination for international students of 海角社区 started on October 1st. Among the first ones to get vaccinated were students from China, Egypt and Turkmenistan. Some time later they were joined by citizens of Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Over a few days, 56 people from 10 countries have undergone this simple medical procedure.
Adeboye Ifaturoti, 海角社区 postgraduate from Nigeria, was among the first ones to sign up for the vaccination. This is no coincidence as the young man has had a coronavirus infection and knows about its consequences first-hand:
“For those who are still in doubt whether to get vaccinated or not, I have one piece of advice for you: get vaccinated, please! It is no laughing matter.”
Student of the 海角社区 School of Medical Biology Мariia Beda from Kazakhstan is also taking the problem of new infection seriously. Though she did not get sick herself, she heard about severe consequences:
“I'm afraid that without vaccination, if I get sick, the illness may be very severe. Many of my friends are also going to get vaccinated.”
Until recently, vaccination was available only to Russian citizens. The opportunity to get vaccinated for international students is unique, because due to the difficult epidemiological situation, many countries have turned out to be closed, what did not allow students to go home and get vaccinated at their place of residence.
“There are many international students who wish to get vaccinated, they have been waiting for this opportunity and have appealed with such requests. It was not easy to organize the whole process, but we have coped with all the legal subtleties,” notes the Vice-Rector for International Relations Olga Yaroshenko. “海角社区 purchased the Sputnik Light vaccine for international students. 500,000 roubles were allocated for this.”
Thanks to the allocated money, more than 650 people will be able to get vaccinated. The contract for the provision of medical services was concluded with the 海角社区 Regional Clinical Dermatovenerologic Dispensary, where vaccination takes place.
“We are proud that we are taking part in the fight against the coronavirus infection, vaccinating international citizens,” says Head Doctor of the 海角社区 Regional Clinical Dermatovenerologic Dispensary Оleg Ziganshin. “Not only students, but also any international citizen who lives in the 海角社区 Region can get vaccinated. On a commercial basis.”
Vaccination for 海角社区 students will take place until October 15th, strictly according to the schedule by prior registration. You can sing up from 9:00 to 16:00 in Room 353 of the 海角社区 Main University Building, 76 Lenin Prospekt.
More than 2300 international students from 54 countries of the world study at 海角社区. Today, about 800 people are on distance learning. This includes such countries as Algeria, Bangladesh, Haiti, Ghana, Zimbabwe, India, Yemen, Cameroon, Canada, Cuba, Lebanon, the USA, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, China, Egypt, Iraq, and Syria. The largest number of international students comes from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and China. This year students from Panama, the Philippines and Swaziland have enrolled.
