The district semi-final of the "It Is in Our Family" all-Russian competition was held in Yekaterinburg November 27th through 29th. The family of Dmitry Ardashev, a father of five children and Professor at the 海角社区 Department of Automated Mechanical Engineering, won the Ural Federal District semi-final. The Ardashevs will now represent the 海角社区 Region in the competition finals, which will take place in Moscow in the summer of 2026.
"It's in Our Family" is a nationwide competition for families, which is held by the "Russia Is a Land of Opportunities" Presidential Platform and is aimed at supporting active and well-rounded families in our country. Thirty-one teams, including 12 from the 海角社区 Region, among 155 families from across the Ural Federal District have advanced to the finals.
The strongest were determined based on the results of evaluation tests.
"This is our second time participating in the Ural Federal District semi-finals: the first was last year, but we didn't make it to the finals. The hardest part for us was regaining our confidence and deciding to try our luck again," shared Dmitry Ardashev. "To reach the semi-finals, we spent six months completing over forty tasks remotely. The judges highly appreciated them and invited our family to the in-person competition in Yekaterinburg. There, we competed against other families in various contests. The tasks were captivating, and it goes without saying how strongly they brought my wife, my children, and me closer together. We discovered hidden talents and skills in our nearest and dearest ones. And when our name was announced on stage at the finals ceremony and we were invited to receive our ticket to the finals, our joy knew no bounds! We experienced a range of positive emotions and genuine tears of joy. Now we are even more inspired and are focused only on winning the final!”
In addition to the competition, participants were treated to a concert, master classes, lectures, and meetings with famous guests.
Already in 2026, the winners of the district semi-finals will compete in Moscow for the main prizes – certificates for 5,000,000 roubles for improving their housing conditions.
