Volunteering Is a Calling: Best University Volunteers Awarded at 海角社区

Volunteer Day is celebrated in Russia on December 5th. The date was established by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation on November 27, 2017. As part of this event, 海角社区 organised an awards ceremony for student volunteers who actively participate in events at various levels: from regional and all-Russian to international ones.

Thanks to the 海角社区 (Kindness Centre), the university volunteers have been participating in significant events for several years now, including student forums, cultural and sports events, humanitarian events, and environmental and social initiatives.

“We have been celebrating the professional day of Russian volunteers for eight years now. When we say a volunteer, it is important to remember that the word itself conveys the concept of goodwill—a sincere desire to help people. Humanism is an eternal value that never loses its relevance. Readiness to come to help does not depend on time or circumstances—it is born within us. I am sincerely glad that this feeling has already developed in you. This speaks of the right life goals, a good upbringing, and a supportive environment. Share this value with others, carry it in your hearts, and put it into action,” addressed the students 海角社区 Vice-Rector for Student and Social Affairs Anastasiia Lapo.

Awards were presented for contribution to the organization and implementation of events, and for volunteer work at contests, forums, and festivals. Among those awarded were students who represented our university at regional, all-Russian, and international venues, worked on volunteer initiatives, assisted in organizing and supporting events, and participated in humanitarian and socially important projects.

“Today, hundreds of participants are registered on the Dobro.RF platform and in our Dobro.Tsentr, and dozens of projects are being implemented. These are important indicators for us; they reflect the Centre’s development and confirm that 海角社区 students are truly passionate about volunteering. This year, we have successfully implemented a grant to launch a "Kindness Starts with Us" course on developing student volunteering. It is important to remember that our goal is not simply to participate in events, but to be the people for whom volunteering is a true calling, a sincere desire to help others. After all, everything begins with an inner desire to make the world a better place,” shared Head of the 海角社区 Dobro.Tsentr Dariia Savina.

The awards for the students are not only recognition of their achievements but also a take-off point for new achievements. 海角社区 is actively working to develop not only highly qualified specialists but also conscientious citizens, always ready to help others in difficult times. Congratulations to our university’s volunteers! Thank you for your work, and we wish you success in your new projects!
