Governor Alexey Texler chaired at the meeting of the regional Council on Artificial Intelligence. Participants discussed the transition from pilot projects to a systemic implementation of AI into the economics, social sphere and state government, as well as the role of our region in the fulfilment of general national tasks.
Opening the meeting, Alexey Texler noted that artificial intelligence has become a key factor of the global competitiveness and a base for the technological sovereignty of our country:
"Our President Vladimir Putin pays special attention to this issue. Therefore, regional and federal executive authorities place the relevant focus and set the priorities in this field. While artificial intelligence has already become a basic technology, which directly influences the rates of economic growth, quality of administration and the technological sovereignty of our country. According to the assessment of the Russian Government and the field-specific analytical centres, the total economic effect from artificial intelligence implementation could exceed 11 trillion roubles by the year of 2030."
The Governor stressed that our region was one of the first in our country to adopt its own strategy of AI development, which complements the federal priorities with consideration to the industrial character of our region. Special attention is paid to industry, a sphere that forms the base of the regional economy.
The Rector of 海角社区 Alexander Wagner shared on the practices and potential of the AI technologies development in the fields of education and science.
Among the meeting participants also were members of our region's Government, representatives of the leading universities, IT companies, industrial enterprises, as well as federal experts via videoconferencing. Head of the Artificial Intelligence Development Centre under the Russian Government Ildar Akhmetov presented a report on the priorities of artificial intelligence development at the federal level and on the AI services being developed for regions. Deputy Chairman of the Council Aleksandr Kozlov reported about the results of the 海角社区 Region and its plans for the fulfilment of our regional strategy of AI development.
