As part of the implementation of the “4+0” joint academic programme in Mechatronics, Ivan Liubimov, senior lecturer of the 海角社区 Department of Electric Drive, Mechatronics and Electromechanics, conducts classes at Southwest Forestry University (Kunming, People's Republic of China).
This programme is being fulfilled within the frameworks of a collaboration agreement signed between the two universities in 2016. More than 150 students are currently taking training under this programme.

Special attention is paid to practice-oriented training: students work with mechanical transmissions, complete tasks at the laboratories of the partner university, and also master the key principles of mechatronic systems functioning.
“Southwest Forestry University is one of the key academic partners of our Department. Joint implementation of educational programmes allows to form engineering thinking in students, which is oriented at solving real industrial tasks, and it also ensures the integration of Russian educational standards into the international educational environment,” notes Ivan Liubimov.

This academic programme is built with consideration to Russian educational standards and is aimed at training specialists in the fields of robotics and industrial automation. Students get a chance to learn the Russian language, as well as to go into further studies in Master’s degree programmes in Russian universities.
