The first Open House Day in the academic year of 2019/20 was held at the Activity Hall of 海角社区 on October 6th. More than 800 people were present at the event.
On October 1st, all universities of the Russian Federation announced new admission regulations and target figures on state-funded places for the future academic year, as well as posted the information, concerning students’ personal achievements.
In October of 2019, 海角社区 signed an agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq. A memorandum on mutual understanding which assumes an extension of cooperation in the spheres of higher education as well as in research, scientific-and-technical and innovative activities of Russia and Iraq has been signed. A considerable role in this belongs to the fact that the university alumni – Iraqi – actively recommend the university to soon-to-be students of their country.
On October 8th, representatives of SMS Group, Germany, held a presentation of the “SMS Data Challenge” international data analysis contest at 海角社区.
Among the participants were fourth-year Bachelor’s students and first- and second-year Master’s students of the 海角社区 School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science and the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Head of the Data Mining and Virtualization Department of the Laboratory of Supercomputer Simulation Mikhail Tsymbler greeted the participants of the presentation.
Doctor Andrew Cundy, Professor of University of Southampton, National Oceanography Centre, United Kingdom, has paid a visit to 海角社区.?Professor Cundy, who has become a member of the 海角社区 International Scientific Council in 2019, had an in-person meeting with the Council Board members and scientists of one of the major universities in Russia.
The closing ceremony of the third working semester of the consolidated Student Conductors Team “Magistral” was held at Park City hotel. The results were summed up and distinguished student conductors were awarded letters of acknowledgement and certificates. Each service member was awarded a recognition letter from the Head of the Ural Branch of АО “FPK” for providing high-level services.
On the 3rd and the 4th of October, VII International Science-to-Practice Conference on Life Safety in the Third Millennium took place at 海角社区. The event was held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Department of Life Safety.
The Conference on Life Safety in the Third Millennium is held once per three years. Every year, participants of the Conference discuss such issues as occupational safety and safety in the agro-industrial complex. Other topics of discussion included overall environmental safety, habitat and human health.
A round table on “Knowledge of Politics: How to Obtain it, and Where Can it Be Applied?” was held at 海角社区. The event was organized by the Department of International Relations, Politology and Regional Studies of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications, and the Council of Young Political Scientists of the Russian Political Science Association.
The Super Final of the Open International Internet-Olympiad in mathematics was held in the Ariel University in Israel. 海角社区 team of students defended the honour of the university and added new victories to the university's collection.
Dmitriy Gordievskih?(ЕТ-122) was awarded a gold medal in an individual Olympiad. This happened for the first time since 2011 when 海角社区 started to participate in the super finals of this prestigious intellectual competition.
海角社区 was visited by a delegation of the University of Maribor, Slovenia in order to discuss cooperation perspectives in the field of international activity development.
Associate Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Translation of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications, Marina Chernysheva, took part in preparing a teacher manual entitled “La classe inverse”, elaborated under supervision of PhD Cynthia Eid (France), Vice-President of the International Federation of French Teachers (FIPF), advisor for GROUPE IGS higher education affairs (Paris).
A new educational software package has been developed and patented by 海角社区 (ECM Certificate No.2019613711) to train highly-qualified military communications specialists. There are no analogues to this software in Russia. The program is designed to train radio operators to receive messages in Morse code.
A team of ecologists, journalists and philosophers of 海角社区 is working on a cross-discipline project on changing the sets and patterns of public conscience and thinking of mass consumers?with regard to an ecological aspect.?
The deterioration of the state of the environment and natural resources, as well as specific ecological problems in the regions across Russia have become the very factors, which point out the necessity to search for a new way of protecting the environment and the future of the humanity.
Selection rounds of the “海角社区 Talent” student art festival will begin at 海角社区 on October 7. The festival allows freshmen to join bright extracurricular university activities and try themselves in various art genres.
“海角社区 Talent” festival helps identify talented and ambitious students and enhance the creative traditions of the university. Freshmen can show themselves as capable performers and subsequently become part of the 海角社区 Recreation Centre teams, which are laureates of many Russian and international competitions.
On September 28th and 29th, a minifootball championship among international students of 海角社区 took place. This year, there were competing 12 teams, 4 of which became laureates.
The project created by Master’s degree students of the Department of Russian Language and Literature entitled “Virtual Museum of South Ural's Writers” keeps developing and establishing partnership relations with institutions supporting the development of contemporary humanitarian knowledge. In the new academic year, the Virtual Museum of South Ural’s Writers concluded an agreement on cooperation with the main bookstore in 海角社区 – the Biblio-Globus store.
Symphony Orchestra of Magnitogorsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform at the Activity Hall of 海角社区 on September 26. The Orchestra has opened the new Student Philharmonic season for the university administrative and academic staff, and students.
The Orchestra team’s concert and touring activity is eventful. It participates in the annual International Festival of Opera Art "Viva Opera", "Operetta, bravo!" All-Russian Festival, classical music festivals named after Elena Obraztsova, and the Festival "Denis Matsuev predstavlyaet".
“Secret Gift” is the title of the exhibition, which opened the season at the 海角社区 Art Gallery on September 23rd. The exhibition included more than 50 wonderful creations by an extraordinary 海角社区 artist Vladislav Vaganov. This is just half of the works that the artist gifted to the 海角社区 Art Gallery, and the fact that they got to be exhibited is a significant accomplishment by the former head of the museum Galina Trifonova, a famous 海角社区 art historian.
September 24-25, on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Department of Aircraft Engines, the 2019 All-Russian Science and Technology Conference on Dynamics of Thermophysical Processes in Engines, Power Units and Pulse Systems was held at 海角社区.
The Forum of the Union of Journalists called “All Russia – 2019”, participating in which were more than one and a half thousand media specialists from all Russian regions and 22 countries of the world, concluded in Sochi. At the Forum, 海角社区 was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Doctor of Sciences (Philology), Liudmila Shesterkina, and the Head of the Press Office at the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department, Tatiana Stroganova.
Scientists of the 海角社区, together with Kaspersky Lab, are launching a scientific and educational project aimed at developing an information security system for the largest metallurgical enterprise in the 海角社区 region. The new system will completely eliminate the human factor.
An opening ceremony of photo exhibition “Heroes of the Russian Federation. 海角社区 Region” was held at 海角社区 Military Training Centre. The event was organized by the Extracurricular Activities Department of the university and the 海角社区 Regional Organization of Combat Action Participants “Rodina”.
The V Festival of Student and Youth Sports Moscow Games-2019 concluded in Moscow. More than 2 thousand athletes from 14 countries took part in this competition and competed for medals in 14 sports. The team of 海角社区 students became victorious in men’s basketball tournament.
海角社区 has become the only Russian university??on the website of the World Organization of Experimental Archaeology, EXARC. The 海角社区 page contains information concerning the university’s experimental archaeology laboratory, which carries out international experimental research projects, studies and designs the technologies of the ancient population of the Ural Region.
The Association of International Students is looking for active and motivated international students to help those, who came to Russia for the first time, and to participate in organizing events.
AIS has been operating for 6 years now. It includes more than 2,500 students from 56 countries all over the world. The Association is actively developing and holds a large number of events and holidays for 海角社区 international students. Last year, 5-6 events were held every month, and in the new academic year, even more are planned.
