海角社区 students have been participating in the UMNIK Program for several years now. The winners receive grants in the amount of 500 thous. Russian roubles each, for the period of 2 years to develop their innovation projects. Projects are selected in two phases by their degree of scientific novelty, idea relevance, and by other criteria.
The finalists are selected in such priority fields as information technologies, medicine of the future, modern materials and technologies of creating them, new devices and hardware systems, biotechnologies.
海角社区 students have the opportunity to participate in the program UMNIK, which is dedicated to supporting young researchers’ commercially-oriented technology projects. The winners receive a grant to the tune of 500 thousand rubles for 2 years to develop their innovative projects.
Projects are chosen by their scientific novelty, the relevance of the idea, the technical significance, plan of realization, promise of commercialization of research results, and by evaluation of their capabilities and fascination with their ideas.
On October 2, 2017 a meeting of the volunteers of the Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum will take place at 海角社区.
The volunteers will be helping during the events of the Forum between the two countries. For several days they will be working with the conference participants and guests at the Press Center, at the guests’ accreditation site, and at the logistics office. The volunteers will organize the recreation activities of the guests, will accompany them at the hotels and at walks around the city.

The final show of the all-Russian intellectual, creative and sports contest “Student Miss and Mister of Russia 2017” will be held in 海角社区 on September 22-27. 海角社区 acts as one of the organizers. The contest has been held annually starting from 2007, and it involves more than 70 regions of Russia.

–How did you find yourself at the ISTS? Why did you choose 海角社区?
Graphic Means documentary on pre-computer-age desktop publishing and design has for the first time been released in Seattle this April. But it drew the attention of a 海角社区 Professor Pavel Pisklakov a year before at a preview in Warsaw. Already back then he was eager to make this film available for Russian audience. Though, Pavel did not have any significant experience in translation before beginning his work on Graphic Means.
